Jungkook sat nervously and played with the tassel on his graduation cap as he watched his other classmates walk up to the stage and receive their diplomas.
Yes, he was graduating.
It had officially been over a year since he had started talking to Taehyung, and he had already attended the older's graduation ceremony.
"I'll wait for you." Taehyung had said once when they had first started talking, he hadn't lied.
Jungkook glanced behind him, face lighting up as he spotted his family, Taehyung, and Jimin waving at him and smiling from where they sat.
A few other things had unfolded in the time up to Jungkook's graduation. Taehyung was getting close to turning twenty, Jungkook officially eighteen and both having had picked up a part time job.
The past few months Taehyung had been searching the housing market in both Daegu and Busan, finding an apartment in Jungkook's hometown that they could split the rent for and still live comfortably. Taehyung's mom wasn't surprised that her son would be moving away, she kind of expected that it would be happening eventually every since her discovery of Taehyung's long distance relationship.
Jimin was still smitten with Yoongi, Taehyung doing him a favour and managing to acquire the older's phone number. Sure, he still had a boyfriend, but Jimin was over the moon to just have to opportunity to talk to him.
"Jeon Jungkook." Jungkook snapped out of his daze as his principal called his name, standing up and taking a deep breath before walking up the steps of the stage. He remembered watching Jimin walk up these exact steps when he graduated around the same time Taehyung did.
And now it was his turn.
His accepted his diploma, standing next to his principal in order for his mom and dad to take photos, sneaking a glance over to Taehyung who was beaming at him with the biggest smile Jungkook had ever seen (besides when they first met, of course).
And then it was over. He felt giddy as he walked off of the stage, sitting back down in his seat and waiting for the rest of the students to be called up.
After the final goodbye was given after the last student sat back down, his graduating class jumped up and cheered with joy; some throwing their caps up into the air in excitement.
Jungkook hugged a few of his friends, bid farewell to some he didn't know well, and exchanged smiles with everyone else. He didn't take too long though, before he weaved through the crowd of graduates, spotting Taehyung's face and dashing over to his boyfriend.
Taehyung saw as well, opening his arms and catching the younger when Jungkook threw himself into his arms.
"I'm so proud of you Kookie." He beamed, hugging Jungkook tightly before setting him down and cupping his face. It was hardly seconds before their lips met, Jungkook not being able to contain the smile on his face as Taehyung kissed him.
"I heard a few people saying that they were scared of what will happen next." Jungkook spoke, nose touching the older's. "And although I don't really know what I'm doing either, I know you'll be a part of it right?"
Taehyung smiled, eyes becoming the crescent shape that Jungkook adored.
"Of course I will."
