*Levy's POV*
As the morning sunlight and the sound of distant car horns woke me up, I realized that today was the big day. They start of my job as a movie actress. I quickly changed into one of my better dresses, which was simply a short sleeved pale orange dress, with a ribbon belt wrap around the waist. The skirt came to an inch above my knee. I pulled my hair back in a headband, only allowing two strands of hair to rest on either side of my face. I looked in my small mirror. It was my first day, and since Like was impressed with my acting, I knew that I was going to be just fine. However, I needed to impress everybody, especially if Gajeel Redfox is going to be there.
I quickly put on my thin winter coat, grabbed my light suitcase, and left my apartment. I was able to cover rent for my apartment, because it was cheaper than most apartments. I paid my land lady last night, telling her I was going to be gone for three weeks, since Loke had told me it would take about six days to get to the island.
Once I was outside, I was greeted by the temperatures of the early morning. Since it was still early spring, it was cold, but a little bit warmer than a pure wintery day of New York. I remember Loke telling me to meet him at the restaurant he took me to last night, so he and I could walk to the harbor, where the boat is. I immediately walked there, suitcase in hand.
As I walked towards my destination, I see some of the children huddled next to their families for warmth, wrapped under a blanket. I felt sorry for everybody I walked past. Hopefully this nightmare of an endless depression will be finally close.
I made it to the restaurant, where Loke was already waiting for me. "Miss McGarden. It's so good to see you and right on time." Loke said with a smile.
"Well, when your at actress, you kinda have to be on time for everything. And you can call me Levy." I said, smiling.
"Okay, are you ready for this?" he asked.
"Yes."
"Alright." he calls over a taxi, and opens the door for me. "Ladies first." I smile and climb in. Loke comes in behind me, and tells the driver to take us to the harbor.
On the way, Loke tells me the schedule, since he wants me to also be relaxed while on the way to the island. He said the movie plot and the other characters roles.
I was really excited to star in a movie. It almost feels like a dream. We arrived at the harbor shortly, and we were greeted by a small crew. The ship, itself, was too big or too small. It was just right. I held firmly to my suitcase, as I was starting to feel nervous. "...vy? Levy." I heard Loke call out for me. "Sorry, I spaced out for a second." I said.
"Its alright. Not very many people go on ships these days, so I can imagine it being a nervous first time." he said. "Allow me to give you the tour."
"Mr. Loke!" I heard someone call out. Loke turns his head in the direction of the voice calling for him. "Mr. Loke, Natsu and Gray are at it again." a man with orange hair tied back said.
"Can't those two go one day without fighting?!" Loke yelled. "I'll go deal with this myself. Jet, can you escort Miss McGarden to her cabin?"
"Yes sir." he said happily.
"Thank you. Levy, once you get settled into your cabin, you can meet me at the left deck of the ship." Loke said.
"Okay, thanks Loke." I said.
Loke immediately ran towards the ship in order to resolve his little conflict with two of his crew members. "Miss, please follow me." the man, I think his name is Jet said.
"Okay." I said, following him.
Jet had taken my suitcase, and began to go up the ramp if the ship. I stood at the bottom of the ramp, nervousness and mixed emotions filing through my mind. "Miss McGarden, are you okay?" Jet said."Uh...yes, i'm fine. It's just I've never been on a ship before." I said, a little embarrassed.
"There's nothing to be nervous about." he said with a smile. "Many people haven't. You are one of the few lucky ones." he said. "Besides, your cabin is waiting."
I swallowed the lump in my throat quietly. It seemed to go into slow motion, but I walked up the ramp to the ship.
Jet lead me to my cabin, which was a little bigger than I thought. It had a twin-size bed as well as a desk, and a wardrobe. There was another, door which lead to the bathroom. The lights didn't shine brightly, but they weren't dim. Jet set my suitcase on the bed. "This is your cabin, where you will be staying for the next three weeks. If you have any questions, please let me or Loke know. We will be more than happy to answer them for you." he said.
"Thank you, do you mind stepping outside and wait for me while I get settled in? I don't know my way around the ship yet, so I would end up getting lost trying to find my way around here." I said.
"Of course Miss McGarden." he said.
"You don't have to call me that. Just Levy will be fine." I said, opening my suitcase.
"Okay, Levy." Jet said, walking outside of my cabin.
As I hung up my dresses in the wardrobe, right next to my movie outfits, I was really beginning to think about meeting Gajeel Redfox. I was actually nervous, especially knowing that he is on the same ship as me. When I finished putting the last of my clothes in the wardrobe, I noticed a bookcase right beside my bed. I was so happy to find that. Books are absolutely my most favorite things. It's like jumping into a whole new world.
Even though I wanted to sit on my bed and read for hours, I remembered that Jet is outside, waiting for me so he can take me to go meet Loke. I quickly opened my door. "Jet, I'm ready." I said.
"Okay, Loke told you to meet him at the left side of the deck, right?" he asked.
"Yep." I said.
"Then follow me." he lead me through the corridors, and up to the main deck, which was still a little cold outside. Along the way, we passed by crew members, and Jet introduced me to some of them.
We finally arrived at the left side of the deck, where Loke was once again waiting for us. "Levy, right on time again."
"I already told you that I need to be on time if I am to be an actress." I said.
"That's true." he said, chuckling lightly. "Jet, if we need you, I'll call for you. You can go back to where you were."
"Yes Mr. Loke." he said. "And it was a privilege to meet you Miss Levy. " He took my hand and shook it.
"I could say the same for you, Jet." I shook back. We released hands and Jet walked off.
"He is part of my crew. Mainly he works with the camera."
"Okay, I can't wait to work with him." I told Loke.
"And if you follow me, there's a few more people I would like for you to meet. Don't worry, I have already told them who you were." Loke said, leading me up a few more stairs into a small meeting room, where I saw the face of the one person who I was scared to meet.
