Serenity's Pov

"I am so angry with her." I say as I climb into bed with Joey.

"Babe, it isn't her fault." He says.

"How so?" I raise an eyebrow at him.

"Anthony shouldn't have ran off like her did. He knows better than that." He tells me.

"He is a child and she is the adult. She should know to watch him." I demand.

"She doesn't have kids." He says. "She doesn't know."

"I'm done with this conversation. Goodnight." I say as I pull the covers over me.

"Does that mean I don't get any loving?" He asks.

"Not since you wanna side with Anna." I huff.

He starts tickling me and lays me down on my back and he climbs on top of me. "Can I have my loving now?" He asks.

"Nope." I tease him.

"Please." He begs.

"Come here." I say. He leans his head down and presses his lips to mine. "You better be siding with me."

"I know next time."

I wake the kids up and walk them downstairs for breakfast. "Anthony I hope you know you are in a lot of trouble." I say.

"I'm sorry mama. Please don't put me on punishment." He begs.

"I'm sorry, but this has to be done. No video games, television, or any electronic devices for two weeks. You could have been seriously hurt." I scold him.

"I bet dad wouldn't take my stuff away." He mumbles.

"No toys either then since you wanna be smart about it." I demand. "Now hurry up and eat cause you gotta go to school, the twins have to go to daycare, and I have to go to work."

Once I drop the Zhené and Jatwan off at daycare I take Anthony to school. "Bye son." I say as I blow him a kiss. .

"Bye." He sighs and slams the door. This boy is really getting on my nerves.

"Hello Patrice. How are you?" I ask the patient.

"I'm fine, but I am ready for this baby to come out already." She complains.

"Just give it time. Your beautiful baby girl will be here shortly." I assure her.

"Dr.Carter, we need you in here." Says nurse Jenny.

"I'll be right back." I tell my patient.

I walk into the hall and close the door behind me. "What is it?" I wonder.

"A child was just brought in here." Jenny says.

"Okay? I'm not in pediatrics."

"It's your son, Anthony." She sighs.

Jenny continued to talk, but I ignored her and ran down to the E.R. what is going on? What could have happened?

I see Anthony on a gurney and doctors surrounding him. I run into the room and start sobbing.

"Dr.Carter, you can't be in here." Says nurse Iris.

"That is my son." I demand.

"You have to let the doctors work." She says as she pushes me out the room.

"What happened? He is suppose to be at school or in the after school program."

"We don't know what happened, yet. The doctors are still trying to figure that out." She says.

"Well what do you know?" I demand. "Who called the ambulance?"

"All I know is that he passed out in class and the teacher called 911." She sighs. "Everything is going to be fine. You just have to be patient."

"Do you have kids?" I demand.

"No ma'am."

"Then don't tell me to calm down when my son is in the hospital."

"I am sorry." She says. "Would you like me to call his father?"

"No, I can call him myseld. Just get out of my face." She nods and walks away as I pull out my phone to call Joey.

"Hey baby?" Joey answers.

"Anthony is in the hospital."

"What happened? Is he alright?" He asks.

"I don't know anything. They won't let me see him. Can you please just get down here?"

"I'm on my way right now." He says.

Joey and I wait in the waiting room along with Lala, Anna, and Rich for the doctor to tell us any news.

"Anthony Carter." Dr.Benard calls. Joey and I stand up and walk over to him.

"What's wrong with our son?" I ask.

"We ran some test and we found abnormal levels of white blood cells in your son." He explains.

"What does that mean?" Joey demands.

"Are you trying to tell me my son has cancer?" I ask.

"Anthony has leukemia." Dr.Bernard says.

"No he can't have that. Anthony is healthy. He doesn't eat sweets or all that sugary shit. I make sure my kids are healthy. Please tell me this is a mistake." I beg.

"I am so sorry Dr.Carter, but I suggest that you and your family get tested to see if you are a match. Anthony is going to need bone marrow." He explains.

"Can we see him?" Joey asks.

"Right this way." Says Dr.Bernard.

I hold Joey's hand as we walk down the hall and into Anthony's room. His tiny body layed in the hospital bed with his eyes closed. "Anthony?" I say.

"Mama?" He opens his eyes and starts crying."I'm scared."

"I'm scared too baby." I cry. I climb in the bed and cuddle with him as Joey sits down beside the bed in a chair.

"Everything is going to be alright." Joey assures us. "We are a strong family and we will make it through anything God throws our way."

"Are you sure?" Anthony asks.

"Of course he is." I assure him.
