Chapter Twenty ~ Idina

Our kiss still dances on my lips as I'm smiling through the forest. I feel like pretending like I'm in High School Musical and breaking into song. I know it would be a song about happiness, but also about confusion. The kiss made me want Farkle even more, but my heart still lingers with feelings for Lucas. I huff to myself as the bright town lights catch my eye in the somewhat distance. I'm getting closer.

I come up to a little stand with ice cream, this must have been where Maya, Riley, and Farkle got ice cream. Well, no one's here now, and it looks like they're about to close.

"Excuse me, sir, are y'all still open?" I ask the man near the cart.

"'Bout to close up, but what do you want little lady?" he replies. Thinking of Maya and Riley, I know exactly what I want.

"One mocha chocolate chip please."

"Heh, that one's been very popular tonight."

"Yeah, I think I know with who," I mumble as he scoops my ice cream into a cone. I grab a few bucks from my purse that's over my shoulder, and pay the man who in return hands me my cone.

As I walk to a little store I finish up my cone and throw it in the trash. The doorbell rings as I open it, and look around. There's an older man reading a newspaper behind.

"Welcome to Buck's Shop. Half off postcards," he announces, not even looking up from his newspaper. He turns up the radio a tiny bit, then proceeds to ignore me. I look around a little bit until the bracelet rack catches my eyes. I see different colors and shapes until I come upon one in particular that I really like. It's pretty simple, maroon string, and a charm in the middle in the shape of Texas. I love it. I pay for it and place it on my left wrist, right next to the friendship bracelet Maya, Riley, and I each made.

We used black and white cube letter beads to spell out each of our names, each name being separated by a pink, purple, and blue heart. Pink for Riley, purple for Maya, and blue for me. It's strung onto a base made of three pieces of string weaved together, one pink, purple, and blue, to make a tie-dye-ish looking bracelet. I smile at it and rub my Best Friends Forever rings.

Staring at my friendship memories and smiling, I've decided. I know what I want. I know who it is. It's him. He's the one. I just hope he feels the same way too. I hope I haven't ruined things. I smile at my new lucky bracelet.

I think it's time to head back to the cabin, it's getting late. I'm about to turn around to leave until I hear a voice, a voice I haven't heard in a long time. A voice I thought I'd never hear again, and honestly didn't know if I wanted too. A voice my friends told me would never find me here. A voice that haunts my memories. A voice I hope doesn't know I'm me.

"Idina."
