Kiba's pov
~~~~~~~~~
When we were younger, it was peaceful, everyone got along. Looking back, I remember how the cherry blossoms fell gently to the ground, swaying in the wind as I laid next to a tree. My small body curled in a ball as I slept to the sound of the wind whistling through the tree's. When I awoke from my long peaceful sleep I noticed I wasn't alone for I felt another body beside me. Looking over to my left I noticed a small bundle of fur curled up against me. Its fur was a reddish Orange and white . Blood covered its small legs, staining the once white fur. Looking at it more closely I could see scars that were ingrained deep in its skin. Laying my head back down I decided to stay close to the small figure that snuggled into my chest as it slept. Slowly I wrapped my tail around its small body then drifted into a deep sleep. The cherry blossoms grazing my fur every once in a while as the wind blew.Waking up to the sound of wolf's howling in the distance, I look over to my side once more. The small bundle of fur was still there, breathing slowly as its tiny back went up and down with each breath. Getting up I nudged the small creature, but nothing happened except for its breathing pattern quickened. I nudged it again and slowly its eyes opened, reveling a pair of bright Orange eyes that seemed to glow in the moonlight. Looking at them, all I could see was sadness as he laid there looking up. After a few minutes I sighed, then walked behind him. Taking him by the scruff on his neck I gently carried him in my mouth towards the palace. His body curled like a new born kitten being carried somewhere. I found it strange he didn't struggle but for all I knew he could be paralyzed.
Trotting up the steps I made my way to the room Toby and I shared at the time. Going through the dog door, I walked briskly over to my bed which was a dog bed for, at that time we didn't know how to transform. Placing the small figure on the bed, I walked over to my food bowl, scooting it across the floor with my nose. He seemed to want some but looked away instead and laid his head down. I sighed, taking a couple pieces of food from the bowl then placed them next to him on the bed. He sniffed them like he'd never seen food before. Hesitantly he ate a piece, making a crunch noise as he chewed. The look in his eyes when he was done was priceless, his eyes were all big and sparkly like he just got a million dollars or a trip to somewhere tropical. I almost laughed as he stared at my food bowl. Scooting the food bowl even closer to the bed, I watched his failed attempts to get up. Sighing I picked the ball of fur and placed him down on the floor.
The following days after were basically the same I gave him food, helped strengthen his legs, and bathed him. At night he would always snuggle into my side, his fur tickling my side every time he moved. One night I finally decided to give him a name since I can't keep calling him kid or squirt. Nico." When I said that his head shot up and he stared at me. I'll call you Nico from now on. Cause weather you like it or not you need a name." He responded by rubbing his head on my side. That's when I realized I've grown attached to this little fluff ball. I remember thinking at the time how am I gonna tell lord Charlemagne that I am taking care of a baby fox, what would he say, or worse what would he do. I guess I'll talk to him in the morning. Letting out a sigh I layed my head down and quickly fell into a deep sleep.
That was back when I was still a child, around 6 years old in human years. Back then, everything was peaceful, there was no war or fighting. Looking at it now, times have really changed since then, but never in all my life would I have imagined that I'd get to see him again. Nico......" I'm so glad you remembered my name." He replied with a small smile. A long silence spread between us until I broke it. So why have you come back all the sudden?" You and I both know the answer to that." I stood there in silence, a frown evident on my features. Clutching my fists together I turned and walked away.
