Chapter Three: Koi

He pulled back as quickly as he had reached out. "Actually, I've tried this before. I'll leave it like this," he turned and took four steps to get to the door. He opened it and grabbed his sword from the other side. Smiling devilishly, he grabbed my arm, and I stuttered undecivable words, too confused and scared to do anything else. Was he going to kill me? Was he going to give me such a shock and then kill me? I recalled that Laurance had said that his Lord said I might be too valuable to have dead, but I'm just a theif. No magics here.

Laurance dragged me along, and then watched me up a ladder, following once I got to the top. He continued to push me into a small room- there was a bed, chair and nightstand in it. He closed the door behind me, locking it. "You'll be moved again in the morning," and with that, he turned to leave.

I said that I had no magics, remember? Well apparently some people do.

About an hour after Laurence left, there was a knock on my door. I moved to peek out the little window, expecting to see someone, specifically Laurance, at then other end. But nobody was there. So I stood back up. But my left arm felt different, something was pulling on it, so I turned my head to see what had caught on it. There was a girl at my arm, half of her hair was black and then other half was pink. She was wearing a dress, one that someone would wear to a party, but it was a lot more masculine.

At the sight of her, I jumped and pushed myself backwards against a wall. "Oh! How rude of me! I'm sorry, (Y/n), I'm Koi, nice to meet you!" She put out her hand, smiling politely, waiting for me to shake it back. Cautiously, I moved my hand forward and took her hand, gently shaking it. A confused and scared look was across my face, but she obviously didn't pick up on it. "H-Hi..?"

The girl drew her hand back and blinked a few times before moving around me to inspect my body. "So, what're you in for, (Y/n)?" I blinked down at her. She looked younger than me, and was definitely shorter. She continued to circle, then stood up. "Oh, dont tell me! That guy Laurance knocked you out then brought you here," Koi moved to the front of me. She put her hands on her hips and smiled brightly, her eyes widening. "Y'know, I really like your name, (Y/n). I could say it all day! (Y/n), (Y/n), (Y/n)!" She beamed up at me.

At this point, I was wondering what was happening. This girl appears out of litterally no where, and was saying that she liked my name? No.

"You haven't heard my name before?" I questioned her. She blinked and shook her head in response. "I grew up without real people," she blinked hopefully, looking at her toes. "It was just me, my mother and the rest of the village." I wanted to ask her what she meant by that but the door was suddenly burst down. A black haired woman stood alongside Laurance, both weilding swords. Laurance moved to corner me, while the new person put her sword against Koi's throat. "Who are you and what are you doing with our prisoner?" the woman asked Kou, who I could see was fiddling with something in her pocket. Apparently nobody else noticed in time though.

She tossed me a small black glass orb, with glowing green and purple matter inside it. "(Y/n)! Throw it across the room so it shatters!" She took another out of her pocket and pulled an arm back, slinging it across the room. I heard it break and her body made a poof and erupted into a purple smoke. The same thing happened on the other side, and Koi reappeared, giving me a worried glance. I tossed it to where she was at, it broke and the same thing happened to me. The woman and Laurance turned around, confused, but quickly regained and charged at us.

Jou grabbed my arm, and threw one of the orbs far outside. Through a window, and across a porch to a dirt trail leading to the stone building I had been in. Koi grabbed my arm and ran. She was fast, for such a short person. "What are you doing?!" I had to yell for her to hear me. "You don't want to be here, right? With these people, who have used potions on you and kept you in a jail cell?" Koi didn't need to yell back, but as soon as those words hit me, I knew she could tell how I felt.
