She Will Be Loved

It was a busy day at Manhattan, New York. People rushing to get to work, to meet up with friends or to just waste time. Rain had always been an observant guy. Noticing every mistake, every conflict, even every emotion. Through it all, he still notice a girl silently drinking her coffee, sitting on her usual spot. Mayve Collins, that's her name, a simple girl who has stolen his heart. A girl he wants to keep and take care of, forever.

Everyday, he tries to approach her and maybe share stories with her, but shyness always consume him, but not today. He approached her and asked if he could sit with her. She just gave him a warm smile and nodded her head. He sat down with her and talked about random things. Until he became brave enough to confess his feelings.

Days, weeks, months had passed in a blur. Mayve started to smile and laugh more, because of Rain. Eventually, she said yes to Rain. She became more cheerful and happy.

One night, on a very special day, their anniversary, Rain asked Mayve to dance with him and she said yes. Rain maximized the volume of his phone speaker and picked a song. He picked 'She Will Be Loved' and they danced. They danced to the beat with the stars and the moon shining above them. Just before the song ended, Rain whispered softly in her ear "Yeah, you will be loved. I love you." and with that she smiled.
