Chapter 32: The Doping Trial

Author's note: Hi, everyone! Starting from this chapter, you are going to know how the doping trial process will be like. But I'll just remind you that this is based on my imagination, as I don't really understand how it is actually like.

Sunday, the 3rd of November. Clara felt happy but sad at the same time when she saw Seb on the podium, taking his Abu Dhabi GP's 1st-place trophy. She was grateful that all of his fans still supported and believed in him. But, many other people judged him. They said that Seb wasn't sportsmanlike after the huge issue about him had been spread all over the world.

The atmosphere after the race was different at all. No team photo, no celebration, and... no smile on Seb's face. He sometimes just threw a slight smile in front of the reporters. And, he looked very patient to respond all questions from the media about his case.

What made Clara beyond grateful was that Seb was given permission to keep racing by FOM and FIA. It was just that he would be disqualified from the 2013 season if he was proven to be the buyer and user of the doping.

After the interview sessions, Seb went back to his room while Clara was looking for Nira. She had told her that she would love to stay at her house, so she wanted to ask when she would come there.

Clara guessed that Nira was in Scott's room which was right beside Seb's. Just before she knocked the door, she heard them talking inside. She was suddenly very nervous as they were talking about her boyfriend's doping case.

Without a doubt, she took her phone from her jeans' pocket, changed it to the silent mode and tapped on the voice recorder app. She was beyond grateful that the door opened slightly. She knew that it could be an important evidence from her. After that, she decided to go back to Seb's room.

They travelled back to England that night and in the following week, Seb would be very busy as he had to take urine samples as the doping test and the result would be revealed during the trial that would be held in London.

The day had come. Seb, who stayed at Clara's house, had been ready physically and mentally to attend the trial. Just before Seb and Clara left her house, David called them. "Clara, Seb, will you wait a minute, please?"

"Is there something, dad?" she asked.

"Your mother and I will attend the trial. That's why I'm not going to my office today."

"Oh, you don't have to do that, David. It will be better if you go to your office, as I'm sure that you have some works to do."

"No, Seb. Tatiana and I will still go there with you both."

Seb thought that David and Tatiana's support and prayer for him were more than enough. He didn't believe that Clara's father took leave just to attend his trial. He was really touched by that.

The first trial was held 2 days after the doping test. At the tribunal, the judge would announce whether the result of the test was positive or negative. But Clara knew that even if the result was negative, the trial would certainly continue to resolve the issue regarding the existence of doping in Seb's room.

About two hours later, they all had been in the courtroom. Seb was accompanied by his lawyer who was also from Germany. While, Clara was sitting next to Christian, Adrian, Dr. Helmut, Rocky, and also Heikki.

The judge finally arrived and he opened the trial. "Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Today, the 7th of November, we are gathered here to start this doping trial, where Mr. Sebastian Vettel, the driver for Red Bull Racing Formula 1 Team, is suspected of being the owner and user of the doping that was found inside his private room at the team's hospitality at Buddh International Circuit, India, on the 27th of October by the team's advisor, Mr. Helmut Marko,"
