When Havelock Overwhill's name is reaped to be part of the 29th annual hunger games, her life comes to a complete standstill. Her boyfriend breaks up with her in the doubt that she will return to her home district of 9 and as she steps on the train to go to the capitol she sees him kissing her best friend Bonnie. Broken and left feeling weak, Havelock's world is thrown into the games. Here she must find a way to survive and win the games. However handsome district 6 tribute Giro appears and begins playing with her heartstrings she can't help but find herself attracted to him.
