Shay~
I stood in the mirror looking at my reflection, not too bad. I wore a strapless black knee length dress, and black sandeled heels. My hair was held up by a french twist, and I'd added a bit of makeup, including red lipstick. I mean I knew it wasn't a date, date, just friends going out and having a little fun.
I opened my door and walked slowly into the living room, Cash was staring out the window, but he had cleaned up nice. He wore dark denim jeans, and a black fitted button up dress shirt. His short black hair was spiked, and I had to keep reminding myself we are just friends Shay!
I cleared my throat to let him know I was ready, he turned and his face froze when he saw me. It was almost as if he were seeing me for the first time, I could see his eyes roam over me, and his adams apple bobb as he swallowed hard. "You look amazing." He managed to whisper, he started walking towards me and I could feel the heat and hunger in his gaze.
"Are you ready?" I nodded, not trusting myself to speak. I grabbed my purse, and keys and started to walk to my car, when he grabbed my elbow with his good hand, and steered me towards the road. Sitting on my street was a sleek black limo, "Tonight I want you to be surprised, and since I can't drive I hired a limo. Shall we?" He asked, taking my arm in his. I couldn't help but feel a little like Julia Roberts when she was in Pretty Woman.
I walked with him, arm in arm. The limo driver opened the back door for us to get in, I did my best not to show anything as I slid into the soft leather seat. Cash slid in next to me, and we were off to whatever surprise he had planned.
Cash~
When we pulled up to one of the most fanciest clubs in this part of California Shay's mouth fell open, "I've wanted to come here since it opened last May, but it's so hard to get in. The line is always backed up." She said smiling at me, at least some things really never did change and that was Shay loved music, and dancing. The driver opened our door, and we were off to start dancing.
A friend of mine was the owner of the club, so they let us in as soon as we walked up. Once inside we took a seat at a corner booth and I ordered us some of their best champagne, and some light finger foods. The music was raging, and I could feel Shay vibrating with it in her seat.
I loved seeing her this way, so carefree and not at all like she hated me. She looked up at me and smiled and grabbed my hand, "Let's dance!" She shouted over the loud music, I followed her lead onto the dance floor and watched her body move to the music. It was a rock beat, which we both liked. Both of us found it easy to move to this kind of music, it was after all my ganera.
After the song ended, we walked back to our booth. "I'm starving!" She said, as she bit into a cheesestick. I poured our champagne, and handed her a glass.
"Can I propose a toast?" I asked. She smiled, and took the glass holding it up to meet mine."To new beginings, may we both find what we are looking for." She met my glass and we both took a sip, our eyes never leaving each other. It was an almost sensual feeling, until a new song came on causing Shay to break eye contact.
"It's your song," She mummbled, it was the one she'd been playing the other night, the slow beat was perfect for a real dance.
"Let's dance," I whispered into her ear, she looked at me and nodded. I led us to the dance floor and pulled her close with my good arm, this blasted arm that was injured was going to be the death of me. I pulled off the sling, and had to admit it hurt but I wanted to hold her closer.
"Don't your going to hurt yourself," She scolded, I shrugged it off, and ran back to put it at our table, I ran back to Shay and took her in my arms. Her head rested on my chest, and both of her arms were threaded around my kneck. God it felt good to finally hold her like this, we let the music wash over us as we swayed to it.
When the song had ended, she finally looked up at me, and it was my undoing. Her clear blue eyes had tears swarming in them, and so many questions, but it wasn't even that. It was the heat from them, the hunger that had mirrored mine when I first saw her standing in the living room earlier this evening.
Without a word, she stood on her tip toes, threaded her hands in the back of my hair and pulled my head down to meet her waiting lips. The kiss soared through my blood, it was like she was injecting me with a drug. I felt like the room was spinning, and if I were to let her go I would cease to exist.
When she finally broke the kiss we were both breathless, I put my forehead to hers and breathed in her lavender scent. "Let's get out of here." She whispered, pulling me back to our table to get our things. She stayed eerily quiet on the way back to the limo, and on the drive home. She wouldn't even look at me, which let me know I'd basically screwed up our whole night.
We pulled into her driveway at exactly midnight, I thanked the driver and followed Shay into the house. She stood in the middle of the living room, quiet as a mouse.
"Are you ok?" I finally asked, I stood behind her, afraid if I touched her she might flip out. But she turned around, a vulnerable look in her blue eyes, I gulped. This was the look she'd given me ten years ago, the same look that had begged me to take her and make her mine. It was also me that had tried to be the bigger person back then, but I knew that kind of control that I'd had back then was no match for what I felt now.
"Shay?" She didn't say a word as she reached up to let her long dark hair come tumbling down out of its clip, she took a step forward till our bodies were flush. Reached up and kissed me again, this kiss was pure, and filled with lust. It was pent up passion and rage, I grabbed her up with my good arm, and pushed her back slowly into the wall. I kissed her kneck, her cheeks. I felt of places I knew I shouldn't, but it felt so good. She moaned with pleasure, giving into what we both wanted.
"The...bed...room." She said breathlessly, I let her down and followed her to her room. She started unzipping her dress, my eyes followed her every move hungrily. And even though I'd waited ten years for this, I couldn't let her make a mistake. I put my hand on her zipper, she gave me a sad questioning look.
"Are you sure?" I asked in a deep throaty voice, she had no idea what she was doing to me. She looked at me as if in a daze, then it was like she snapped out of it.
"Get Out!" She screamed a look of humiliation crossing her gorgeous features, I looked at her stunned. Well this was not the reaction I was hoping for, but I did as she asked.
