Rogue POV. (Before the bump in.)

Run.

Running is all I ever do...

I ran when Minerva touched me.
I ran when mom died.
I ran when Cobra came back.
I ran when they started coming home with my father.
I ran when he first hit me.

All I ever do is run.

'You're nothing but a worthless coward!'

I'm running right now... Coward.

My feet slapping against the cold ground as I run from yet another problem.

I know I shouldn't be running but I have to... My leg hurts like hell...
He hit me with a pan today... Damnit! I'm not going to last much longer!

I'm brought from my thoughts by another body hitting mine. I fall to the ground my butt hitting the hard concrete. Ow...

I look up and see Sting.

Oh Mavis thank you!
I don't think I could deal with anyone else right now.
Luckily Sting is nice enough not to do something too violent or rude...

Sting shifts his eyes towards me with a blank look on his face.
I feel my face heat up. Why? Why the hell am I blushing?!
I look down at my lap in hopes that my hair would cover my face.

Sting seemingly gets up and walks towards me. He offers his hand.

Is this some sort of trick? Is he just gonna push me back down again? No, he doesn't seem like that kind of person...

I look up at him and grab his hand after a little hesitation.

He picks me up for a second but my leg gives out and I fall on the concrete again scraping both my hands and the backs of my legs.

"Oh my Mavis, are you okay?!"

Damnit! Why did he have to see that?! That was so embarrassing!
I can't look at him but I nod.

He offers his hand again, but this time I don't grab it. Why would I? I'm just going to fall again. What's the point?

Sting gives a sigh of what seems to be disappointment.

"Please take my hand..."

He doesn't need to help me... He should go. I can surely stand up and get home on my own. I don't want to be a burden.

I turn away not willing to look at his gorgeous blue eyes.

"I'm fine, you can go..."

I hear Sting step closer until he's right in front of me. He bends down and does the most unexpected thing, he grabs my waist and puts me over his shoulder.
I hold in a squeak of surprise.

He's so gentle...

I just lay there, on his shoulder.

"So where should I be taking you?"

Shit. I can't tell him...

"Where do you live?"

If I tell he'll see... See my 'home'.

"Earth to Rogue!"

I don't say anything.

"Well fine I guess you're coming home with me..."

What? He's just going to take me to his home?

He starts walking the opposite way that I was, back in the direction of my house, and most likely his. I melt into the feeling of comfort. He's so... Safe. The feeling of his hand on my back, the rhythm of his steps, the sound of his breathing...

My eyes feel so heavy...

...

I open my eyes and find myself in a new environment.

I'm in this large room painted an off white, it has two big windows that appear to lead to a small balcony, there's a big bookshelf that holds a vast amount of books, pictures, and relics. I also see a decent sized desk covered in papers, sketches, pencils, etc... There's a small cat bed in the corner of the room... Where the hell is the bed?
I notice I'm in the bed.

Oh.

Where am I?

Memories come rushing back into my head.
Dad,
The pan,
Running,
Sting,
Sleep.

Hm, I guess I'm in Sting's house...

I start to get up but pain shot through my whole body and stopped me.
I pull the covers off my leg to see that it's wrapped in bandages.

Wait...

What the hell am I wearing?!
I'm dressed in a pair of white shorts and a blue tee-shirt 3x to big. At least I'm still wearing my socks...

Who changed my clothes?
Did Sting?

My face got extremely hot at just the thought of it.
Sting, seeing me naked... Oh, that would be so... Ahhhhh! Oh Mavis what am I thinking?! This is stupid...

I cover my face.

I'm brought to my senses by a voice,

"Ah, you're awake."
