You know you've become a famous dancer when you get off stage and everyone wants you to get back on. When you try to walk to your dressing room, and all the other dancers want your autograph. And don't even mention how many people want you to teach them.
But, this is not why Greg or even Zipporah do what they do. They just love the feel of dancing, when you just know that if it wasn't called dance it would be called flying. Greg ballroom dances because dancing teaches him that no matter what crazy thing happen in his life, which lots of stupid stuff happen, he is at least in control of one thing in his life.
Then there is Zipporah, who from a young age knew that this is what she was going to do for the rest of her life. She knew that she wanted to teach and own her own place to dance. She knew how it was all going to work. Because in her eyes it was all easy, ballroom dancing was something that happened naturally. The music turned on and she danced. And because she loved to dance so much, she found ways that she could, at a young age, complete the goals she had made for herself.

With her eyes finally adjusting to the normal lights, Zipporah walked with Greg to a room that was set apart for them to go after the performance. Thomas was already there, and as always he was with a group of people bragging about how Greg was his brother.
"Hey! Tommy!" Greg said as he walked into the room. "Where is your new roomy you said you'd bring? He didn't bail on you did he?" Greg teased Thomas a lot, but that's what brothers are for, right.
"Naw, he just said he needed to go to the restroom." Was Thomas' reply. "He will join us soon. Hey, where is Zippy?"
Greg looked behind him, only to see Zipporah heading out the door. Thomas and Greg ran to her sides. "Zippy! You can't leave yet." They said in unison.
"But, guys! I need to sleep!" She said. "I don't have time to party with you."
"Come on! you need a little fun in your life." Greg said.
"Yeah! at least meet Chris, my roommate, I think you'd like him!" Thomas said.
"That's what you always say. Then you always make me stay all night. I don't want to." Zipporah argued. "Besides, I was a little distracted at the library today. I didn't finish all the studying that I needed to."
"Wait, did I just hear what I think I heard?" Greg said. "Finally my little Zippy was distracted when trying to do school work. I never thought this day would come!" Greg liked to tease Zippy because she could always get her school work done on time, and sometimes early. But, this truly surprised him. "Wait, how did you get distracted?" He asked gesturing to her whole body as if she of all people would never get distracted.
"I shouldn't have said anything," Zipporah said under her breath. "Well, it is like this. There was some person sitting at the table next to me, who got excited over a cookbook. And was able to do their law homework. This person intrigued me." This is when she walked away.
Zipporah didn't like it when others talked to her about why or how something happened. It was always such an awkward conversation that she just didn't like to have it. Thomas and Gregory were so baffled by the idea that someone distracted her from her school because they couldn't even get her out of her apartment if it was not for ballroom, school or church.
Walking over to get a drink, a sprite is her favorite, Zipporah decided to stay for at least an hour. This is when she started thinking about the boy from the library again.
How is it that I don't know him? She thought to herself. I mean I don't know everyone, but I do at least recognize them. I mean this town isn't very big.
The door opened and Zipporah knew it must have been Thomas' roommate. You could hear Thomas saying "Hey, good to see you made it to the party." Not much of a party, just some soda, and snacks and like maybe seven people. "This is my brother Greg."
"Good to meet you, Greg!" Zipporah heard the boy reply. "You are really good at dancing! When did you decide that you wanted to be a ballroom dancer?"
"Oh, that is easy, one day I was dancing in the park by my house. I was like 13 years old. That is when this woman told me that I would be good at ballroom. She told me that she owned a studio, then proceeded to tell me to come by the next day and check it out." Greg really liked to tell this story. "So the next day I walked into her studio and found a bunch of girls dancing in one room. They were not only attractive but you could tell that they loved to dance, I like when people know what they are good at. So, this woman taught me how to dance, with class. I learned that you get to know a lot of really cool people when you are in the ballroom business. I later joined this woman's ballroom team, and we were really good."
"Wow" there is that voice again. "That's really cool man!"
"Yeah, what is it that you do?" Greg asked.
"Well, that is a complicated question." He replied. "But, as of right now I am in law school. So I guess you could say that I am going to be a lawyer."
"Well, that is pretty cool," Greg said.
"Hey, you haven't met Zippy yet." Thomas jumped in. "Zipporah get over here. I have someone you should meet."
This is when Zipporah decided to stop eavesdropping and actually join the conversation. She turned around and put down her drink. "yeah, I'm coming." Then she saw him. The roommate, he looked familiar. He wasn't anyone she knew. No, but there is something that she recognized, it was that smile. She somehow knew that smile.
He stretched out his arm and shook her hand. "Hi, my name is Chris, I finally get to tell you my name."
"wait," Greg said. "How do you know who she is?"
"Oh, that one is easy, I saw her at the library earlier today."
"That's why I knew who you were. You are the boy with the law books." Zipporah joined in. "What are the odds that you would be Tommy's roommate?"
"Not a lot," Chris said. "But, it's pretty cool if you ask me."
At this point, Greg and Thomas started to slowly walk away. They finally have someone that Zippy wanted to talk to, other then them, so they wanted to let them continue talking without any distractions.
"So, you are a ballroom dancer?" Chris said.
"Yes, yes I am," Zipporah replied. "I love it, it makes me feel alive. Is that what becoming a lawyer is like for you?"
"Well not really. I am doing it because I am good at it. I don't need to push myself to be able to become a lawyer." Chris said. "I haven't thought of doing something because it makes me alive, in a long time."
