Chilled's POV
"You never loved me anyway. Even when I was straight" I yelled from my bedroom. I slammed the door and limped over to my bed. Looking at the recent beating marks, these won't go away for awhile. One on my arm was bleeding. I grabbed the shoe box full of medical supplies from under the bed. Looking at the wound, it looked like it needed more than a bandage. I pulled out the gauze and peroxide. The sting no longer bothered me. I've been doing this for years.
Flashback
"Mom, Dad. We need to talk" I said to my parents. "Yes Anthony" Mom asked in her nice voice. "I'm not... I'm not into women. This was super hard for me, can you please understand that". I bit my lip and looked down at the carpet. Of course they wouldn't understand. Coming from a Catholic family, I would be shunned for coming out as gay. People from school I could handle. Those people are just assholes. "What did you say" Dad questioned. "I'm not like most boys. I don't like women like you like Mom". I noticed Dad was clenching his fists. I prepared myself for what was to come. My friend came out as bisexual and his dad would do the same as mine would. "You know we don't accept you. In fact, come here". That night, I almost ran away.
End flashback
I wrapped the gauze around my arm and slipped on a sweatshirt. A knock came soon after. "Come in Clio (pronounced Cleo). My older sister came in with food from her secret stash she has in her closet. "Again" she asked, pointing to the box. I nodded and slid it under the bed. "I brought you some food". I smiled as she passed it to me, her feather tattoos showing from underneath her jacket. "Only one more year. Then you get to go to college". "I know. Mom and Dad won't care will they Lio". She shook her head, her pink-orange hair shaking. "I will though". I sighed. "Do you have to leave. Can't you take me with you". "Sorry. I'm technically not your legal guardian. Hey chin up. I'll still come over. And we can Skype if you want". I nodded and gave her a hug. "Don't worry Anthony Mancini. You're strong. You can do it. I believe in you".
Ze's POV
"Steven, we're here". My mom shook me awake from my peaceful sleep. I looked up at the sign that showed we were entering Colorado. I slipped my coat on and checked to make sure none of our things were broken. "Mom. How long have you been driving". "Since we left the hotel". "Mom, that was eight hours ago. Let me drive. Please". "No it's alright. I'm fine". "Mom, please pull over. You need sleep. Let me drive". She sighed and pulled into a gas station. "Fine, but only because I know you're going to bother me about it". I smiled and hopped out of the passenger side of the car. We had just filled up on gas a couple hours ago, so we were fine until the next town at least. "Steven, you don't have to do this" Mom said as she got into the passenger side. "I want to and you haven't slept in hours. Don't worry, I'm fine". I grabbed the blanket we had in the back seat and handed it to her. She had already put her earbuds in and had fallen asleep. I smiled, threw the blanket over her and started up the car. The GPS was already programmed to our new apartment. I turned the radio on and pulled out of the gas station. We only had a couple hours left until we were there. I wiped away a stray tear away from my face, sighed, and merged into traffic.
