When lunch finishes, i slipped out of the empty library (except for the librarian) giving the librarian the nod and went back to class.
Right now we have maths and Mr Crown had surprised us with a quiz. Luckily I always stay up to date with my studies and usually rank top three in my class.
I breezily finish the test and raise my hand. Mr Crown notices and gives me a thumbs up. I give him a small smile.
The bell rings and Mr Crown collects all our papers. "Oh I heard you all have received your big assignment," he says. Seriously what's so big about this assignment? "you kids have to wait till you see the prize."
Prize?
"Of course, I can't tell you anything," he says wickedly, receiving groans and 'come on, tell us,' from us, "well off you go kids have a great weekend."
I quickly gather up my books and head to my locker. "So you wanna meet up at the park tomorrow?" someone says, and I jump away squealing, bumping into someone in the process. I turn around to see Chas- Theo holding onto my bruised shoulders. I wince, " whoa there Lizzie, you alright?" he asks concerned but amusement at my reaction clear in his features.
"I'm fine," I mumble, not wanting to speak.
"Ok, so are you up for tomorrow?" he asks.
"Uh, I don't know," I say. What if my parents tell me I'm not allowed to go?
"Okay, let me know?" he asks.
"Yup, I'll let you know soon," I say.
"Great,so ttyl?" he grins.
"I guess so," I roll my eyes as he walks away.

By the time I get home, I'm worried how I'll ask my parents to go to the park to work with Theo. Maybe I'll lie to them and tell them I need to to go to the mall. Or I could help around the house and get on my mother's good side.
I decide to go with the second option.
When I get home, I quickly slip into my room, carefully avoiding my mother and grabbing an apple from the dining table before completing my home work.
"Is there anything I can do to help?" I ask my mother.
She gives me an odd look and the she points to the messy counter. I look at Casey sitting in the lounge watching TV.
"Okay," I quickly wipe away everything and put it in its place. "Done!"
She walks over to look and nods before giving me a small smile. Okay good, she's in a good mood. "How was school?" she asks. Thank god she's in a good mood. She isn't always in a bad mood like yesterday I guess.
"Good, we got that assignment and I'm pretty sure I did well in my maths quiz today," I add trying to make her happy.
Here goes nothing.
"Actually," I say nervously, "about the assignment, it's a group assignment and we need to work with our partners outside of school and I need meet up with our partners outside of school alot for a couple of months," I say quickly, "of course not at all times and I was wondering if you'd let me go," I say.
"So it's for school?" she asks with raised eyebrows.
"Yes," I nod vigorously.
"Alright, if it's for school then it's fine," she says. "But you have to tell either me or your father where you're going."
