"You always do this!" I shouted at my mom, "You're so controlling!"

"Because I know whats good for you better than you do," she yelled back, smacking her hand on the table.

My dad came strolling into the kitchen wearing his usual work attire; he was the head of a big interior design business.

"Alright," he smiled, "Let's cool down. We all need to take a deep breath."

"Shut up, Ty," my mom shouted.

I groaned, shoving past my dad and leaving the house, getting in my parents old minivan and leaving for school. Honestly, I don't even remember what the fight was about, but it was probably my mom's fault. She's controlling and an OCD freak. My dad, on the other hand, is the opposite, so you can guess how annoyed they get with each other.

I pulled up to the school, parking next to my friends car. She was sitting in it talking on the phone, and when she saw me she hung up and got out of her car.

"Dove, whats up?" Lisa said, giving me a side hug as we walked inside.

"My mom is being a complete bitch again," I complained.

I turned the corner and bumped into someone, and they spilled their coffee all over me. I screamed, the hot liquid burning my skin.

"Fuck, I'm so sorry," he said, using his sleeve to wipe my shirt.

"Get off me!" I screamed, "And watch where you're going next time."

I shoved him out of my way and ran into the bathroom, going to the sink to try and wash the coffee off me. Lisa came in after me, helping me wipe myself down.

"I hate him," I whined, "He always does this shit, and I'm so sick of it."

"He's hot though," Lisa commented.

I glared at her.

"Grayson is an annoying, conceited, and maybe a little attractive but his cockiness cancels it out. Now, I'm going home. I can't get this out and I'm not walking around like this for the rest of the day," I said, leaving the bathroom.

Lisa said goodbye and went the other way, and I called my mom to make sure she wasn't home anymore.

"Have you called to apologize?" my mom said.

"Please, I'm not apologizing on your behalf."

"Well, I'm at work and if you're not going to say sorry I'm leaving."

She hung up the phone and i cursed her. At least she wasn't home anymore. My mom worked with her brother in law and she had long days at the office. Up until about a year ago, she was a stay at home mom. It was unbelievably annoying to have her around 24/7, and now that she's gone its been so great to have the house to myself.

"Dove, hey," Grayson said, pulling my arm and making me turn around.

"What," I snapped.

"I really am sorry for spilling my coffee, I didnt mean to."

I pulled my arm free.

"What do you need?" I asked, knowing he needed a favor of me.

"Your boyfriend is cheating on you," he stated simply.

I narrowed my eyes and turned around to leave, but he grabbed my wrist again, this time not letting go.

"I saw him making out with my girlfriend in the art room this morning. I have a plan, and I need your help."

"Goodbye, Grayson," I said, pulling my arm free and getting in my car.

I pulled into my driveway, still thinking about what Grayson said. Luke couldn't possibly be cheating on me, he was so sweet. Grayson was probably just trying to get inside my head. But why would he say that his girlfriend was the one Luke was cheating on me with? Probably to make it more believable.

I slammed my car door and went inside, changing from my white shirt into a slouchy, oversized gray shirt and my black spandex shorts. Then I pulled on my knee high socks, but because my legs are so thin they just fell down to my ankles in a pool of cotton and yarn, which I didnt mind because it was Southern California and today was May 2.

I grabbed a tub of ice-cream from the freezer and sat down on my couch, turning on a movie. About halfway through the movie, I exchanged my contacts for glasses and pulled my curly hair into a messy bun.

The doorbell rang, and I looked at the clock. It was about noon, so it wasn't the mailman delivering a package. I went to the front door and opened it, revealing a very smug looking Grayson.

"Hey cutie," he said.

"Are you stalking me?" I snarled, trying to close the door.

He put his foot in the way, stopping it from closing. Without waiting for me to say anything, he allowed himself in, and I closed the door after him.

"Nice house," he commented.

I crossed my arms over my chest.

"How'd you get through the gate?"

"I climbed over it," he said, like I was one stupid toddler who couldn't understand simple English.

He wandered around my large house, and I followed behind him because, honestly, I didnt know what else to do. I could tell he wanted to comment on how big my house was and make some snide remark about how my parents were probably never home and I felt lonely in this gigantic house. Cliche.

We made our way back to the living room, where my ice-cream had melted and my movie had exited back to the home screen. He sat down on my dad's leather chaise, kicking his feet up and propped his hands behind his head.

"Why are you here?" I asked.

"Despite your denial, your boyfriend is still cheating on you," he replied calmly.

The image of him talking slowly while laying on the chaise made me angry for some reason. Like we were in one of those shows and I was the damsel he was trying to make arrangements with. It made me want to punch him.

"Luke wouldn't do that," I argued.

Grayson sat up, patting the spot next to him. Hesitantly, I got up, sitting next to him. I ignored the electricity that shot up my leg when my knee brushed against his.

He pulled out his phone, handing it to me. I watched as the video played, my heart sinking. It was Luke and Maria, Grayson's girlfriend, making out on one of the art tables. Grayson grabbed it back from me, pausing it and putting it away.

"So if you'd like to here my plan now..."
