The sun beamed down on their faces. James sat so that one of his legs intertwined with Lily and the other propped up on top of Sirius's leg. Sirius had laid so that his head rested on Remus's stomach. To an outsider, this would look like an odd group and an uncomfortable position, but the members in it didn't care. They knew they had precious moments left together and they weren't going to waste them.

"Oi Tadpole! You're squishing me!" Remus shouted. James cracked up at the nickname, but Sirius didn't take it so kindly,
"Moony, I am a head taller than you. If anyone is Tadpole it's Lily." Sirius raised his hand for a high five from Remus, which he received and they proceed to snort in laughter. James stopped, knowing better than to make Lily angry.

"Very funny. I'll remind you both that 'tadpole' can beat both of you up without any remorse. And it's Evans or nothing," Lily stated, closing the argument. James changed the subject before Sirius could retort,
"What's next guys?" He was met by silence. The group laid and stared at the sun until Remus weakly said,
"Well Sirius had plans to prank the lower years before we go..."
"You know that's not what I meant."

They laid still in silence until Sirius popped up,
"Mate, how are we supposed to know? Can't we just lay here and enjoy our last days at Hogwarts?" James shut his mouth in surprise and Sirius laid back down. Lily noticed James tensing up and attempted to soften Sirius's harsh remark,
"I think Sirius means that we may never get the chance to be here again. We should be enjoying each other and not worrying about the future. And," she whispered to James, "you know yours is with me."

James grinned and glanced at the ring around her neck on the chain he bought for her. James grabbed Lily's hand and relaxed. Remus adds,
"And who knows maybe the octopus will take Peter and never bring him back." The group laughed and Sirius gave Remus a punch on the shoulder,
"That's too kind; it's nice in the lake. I hope a therestal eats him."

The conversation faded into jokes about their years and picking fun at Peter. The future looms ahead, but was forgotten in the moment. The sun continued to shine and the group was content.

All was well.
