Miranda's pov
Sierra had the idea of modeling our school clothes for dad. The new clothes he got me and her. So we turn on some Toby Keith. "Ready dad?" She calls. I stifle a laugh when he calls back, "Ready girls." She gives me a thumbs up and walks out. Seconds later I do. "And wearin' a brand new sparkly red tank top and light blue jeans. My sister. Miranda Aldean!" Hearing her say that makes me tear up.

Huh? She starts crying. "What's wrong princess? You look great. Perfect for school." "It's not that. I'm happy. I finally have a family." She says, hugging he. Sierra hugs her too. "How about we go grab ice cream for dessert?" Both girls cheer and run upstairs to change.

Miranda's pov
We laugh up a storm while eating ice cream. I finally feel like I belong. Dad notices I stopped laughing and he puts a hand over mine. "You alright sweetheart?" "Yeah. A little nervous for school." I mumble. He smiles. "Sierra will help you."
*the next day*
I get to school, a hand clamped around my backpack. I walk to my locker and put some books in it. Oh no. The guy from before! "Hey I wanted to apologize. I feel bad especially after I found out what your parents did to you." Huh?! How'd he know?! "How did you find out about that?" I gasp. He pulls out a magazine. "Being the daughter of a famous country singer he gets dogged by the media." "I know. Gimme that." He hands it to me. Everything. It tells everything. I bust into tears and he hugs me. "I'm sorry." "I'm going home." I run all the way home and dad was just getting home. "Huh? What are you doing here?!" I slam into him in a hug and sob. He drops his keys and wraps his arms around me. "Baby girl what's wrong?" "Everyone knows now."

Oh jeez that damn magazine. "I'm sorry but at least they got the facts from me and didn't make crap up." She wipes her eyes and looks up at me. "I guess so." I smile and we go inside. I sit on the couch and she sits beside me. "There's this boy at school." She says. Oh crap. Boys?! Already. "You aren't dating right now, not after what you just went through." She laughs though. "Oh no way not like that! No he was messing with me, trying to get with me ya know. And Sierra stopped him the first time and well he came today to apologize." But all I heard was someone was messing with my little girl. "I'm gonna kick his ass!" "No it's okay dad!" She gasps, grabbing my belt loop. "I don't like the idea of him messin' with ya." "It's okay he said he was sorry." I sigh and sit back down. "If someone does it again, you tell me and I'll make 'em stop." She smiles. "I know dad." I smile and she yawns. I won't make her go back to school today. But tomorrow she does have to go.

Sierra walks in. "You alright? I heard what happened." I nod and set the magazine down. "At least it's the truth from dad and not crap lies." I say. "I'm glad you're my sister. It's a lot more fun." I smile and we hug. We turn the TV on and watch wipeout until dad calls us for dinner.

*in her dream*
I was swinging on a swing in the backyard. I didn't know where daddy or Sierra was. A woman with dark hair and a blue dress walks out. "Who are you?" I ask, jumping down. She smiles. "My name is Jessica. I'm Sierra's mom." My eyes go wide. "What happened to you?" I ask, walking over. She smiles and gets on her knees and hugs me. "I may not be here anymore but just like Jason's your new daddy, I wanna be your new mommy." Tears threaten my eyes. Daddy walks out. She stands back up and hugs him. "I'm so proud of you." She says.
*she wakes up*
I wake up, shakily. The image still fresh in my mind. I'm gonna ask dad about her! I draw a picture of her exactly as I saw her in my dream.

*the next day*
"Dad, I uh I had a weird dream last night." Miranda says, sitting at the bar. "What was it about, honey?" "Who's Jessica?" My hands freeze. How'd she know about Jessica!? Did Sierra tell her?! No that doesn't make sense! But then how. "She looked like this in my dream." He pushes over a drawing. My God. It's the dress she was wearing when we buried her. "S-She's my wife. Well was my wife. She died though." "So she is Sierra's mom!" I nod. "That's what she told me in the dream and she said she was really proud of you." I smile fighting back the tears. "She is?" She nods. I look up at the ceiling. "I'll never forget you." I whisper, wiping a stray tear away. She hugs me. "I'm so glad you're my dad." "I'm glad I'm your dad too, sweetheart. I love you." "I love you too." With that she goes upstairs to get ready for school. I smile. I did good.
