First Impression

Eleanor

I started at the messed up room, then let out a small moan of frustration. I knew I was over tensing myself. "It's just a date Eleanor" I told myself the hundredth time. To every girl there's one major problem, when leaving home .
Clothes !!!
There's like a forever ending line of them . Classy , formal,party,casual,semi-formal,country,old school and on and on.
When it comes to choosing, we got to pick the right type for the right place also keeping in mind , the type of people we are going to hang out with . *sigh*
It doesn't finish there , your next problem is making sure your clothes are fit for the season , weather and trend (according to a few) . For example you can't wear a flowy skirt on a windy day or a warm sweater around mid summer.
Finally , once you chose your perfect dress , you walk out and find your parents or someone unsatisfied with your choice.

Ahhhhhhhh........I simply can't understand how people expect us to do all that in just few minutes.

*sigh* I really wish Tessy could have made it today, she's picky with clothes , at least then I wouldn't be wasting so much time just to pick a dress.

"Organize it, Eleanor" I tell myself .

So.... It's a date hmmmm.....but Al didn't tell where he was taking me .

At the thought of Al, I started smiling, I had a crush on Alister for years , but never had the bone to tell him, I don't know why ? But I was always afraid of the outcome of us being together, now I can't think of anything else .

I giggled at the though that I was finally going out with him. I must have imagined at least a hundreds of different scenarios for how this day would be . I smiled dreamily until I caught a my refection on the standing mirror.

Maybe 40 minutes passed when I finally chose a dress . Tessy always told I looked better with less makeup , once I finished I started smiling satisfied . Navy blue frock that comes little below my knees and the top was covered in white lace pressed down by Navy blue buttons . This was perfect.

I paced around the room in the some sort of mixed excitement . the clock pending over the bed read 3:10.

"Al said he'd be here by 2' I thought . " what's keeping him so long"

I walked over to the window staring at the street.

"Alister!" I whiled in a whisper.
Sure thing that the angles heard me , for a minute later a white car pulled into the empty driveway.

"Hey Eleanor" came in Alister's as he walked toward the door , it was clear that he was nervous . "yeah-so-hmm- *sign* Elenore" he said.

It was getting harder to hold in my giggles . You rarely see this side of him , I knew him well enough to know what was running through his head . it's probably a war zone with him battling between 'tough but sweet' Alister or 'romantic but nervous' Alister.

Not watching where he was going , Al bumped into the front of the car , then squits and climbs in.
I broke into a quiet giggle. He was really really nervous.

The drive seemed to be talking forever , both of us spoke nothing . I hated this awkwardness between us . This was one the reasons I was afraid to tell him my feelings. I was afraid of losing Alister as a friend.

Suddenly the car came into a sudden halt , jerking both of forward.

"Are we there yet " I asked ,burning with excitement , looking around the place didn't look anything like I imagined , in fact , we have just stop in the middle of nowhere . Everything was very ordinary , vehicle continued going their ways, the place looked like a busy street . I looked at Alister for an answer.

"Elenore" he said , his voice was off tone and his head hung low .

"L, I don't want to hide anything ... Hmm - well , so just listen me out " he exclaimed. *sigh*

"Yesterday, I called you , well , I was drunk then , it was a stupid dare thing from one of my friends , so... I called you , I didn't know why and I hadn't planned it... I mean ... This date... It was an accident.

I swear I don't know what I was feeling , just my heart froze . was all this fake??? Was everything going to end even before it started ??? Fear filled within every inch of me . not wanting him to notice my change in mood , I pulled my lips into a fake smile, that's all I could do , wait for him to continue .

" All I said came as a shock even to me, I didn't think much about it later , the drinks made my head fizzy and I passed out . In short I slept through out the rest of the day. Hmm... So I hope you understand , that I made no special plans for this day".

If I had something to say , it wouldn't come out . I was afraid I would break down.

"Elenore, well all these don't change the way I feel for you, I really do love you , I loved ever since fourth grade, when you read me your 'my prince' essay. A little too younger I know " he laughs to himself then continues ,"I can't explain how happy I was to become your friend, I not very sure when I started having feelings for you, but suddenly you became all that mattered .

He sigh , "I'm blabbering right? , Eleanor I'm sorry for today , I stilled managed to get two tickets to the movies and force my friend into giving the platinum invites to that science exhibition you were talking about"

I just continued to stare at him. Yes he was blabbering ! Nothing made sense . I didn't know what to think . First he tell me how me, he asked me out on accident then he tells me he loved me since fourth grade , next he tells he has no plans for today, now he's telling me he's got movie tickets and science fair invites. Either I heard him wrong or he's gone crazy .

'L!' He says , snapping his fingers in front of my face.

I looked at the familiar face for a few seconds , my mind went blank , next I remember kissing him.

A part of me felt like I was overreacting, but I felt more relieved and happy. Sighing I pull back , nervously bitting the insides of my cheek .

"So... That means I can introduce you as my hmm... Girlfriend" he says not looking at me.

I smile in was giving him the answer he needs.
