People preach religion yet they only remember his name at the point of orgasm. People 'fight' for equality but still accept misogyny. People chant about bettering the world but refuse to change themselves. I guess, what I'm trying to say is; actions speak louder than words.

Does our level of cynicism increase with age, or with awareness?

Trains used to scare me, they used to make me dizzy but now, all I see are the opportunities I had to kill myself and didn't go through with it- and I don't know whether to be relieved; or disappointed.

I don't drink to forget, I never have, I never will. I drink to remember but to be unable to feel. Drunken nostalgia and beer soaked thoughts allow me to remember everything that has ever hurt me, but they don't allow me to feel my pain again.
***
When I tell you, "you've hurt me", it means something. You don't get to tell me that you didn't, you don't get to tell me to get over it, and you certainly don't get to dismiss it as nothing.
