I'v been watching you.

A human stood before me. No... I couldn't call that... thing a human. His face was the palest i'v ever seen. Complimented with soul piercing eyes and a huge bloody grin. I scoffed. He disgusted me in every way possible. From his psychopathic facial features to the bloody splatters on his clothes. We silently stared at each other, emotionless, for a couple of seconds until he finally broke the silence.

“You pack quite a punch for such a small body.”

My eye twitched. Keep calm, Rei. He is obviously trying to hit a nerve.

“What the hell do you want?”

I replied uninterested. He just amusingly laughed.

“Well aren’t we in a shitty mood today!"

At this point, I spinned on my heel and started strutting the opposite way he was standing. I don't have time to waste on this idiot.

“You know... I’ve been watching you."

I froze and looked over my shoulder with narrowed eyes. He had laid his back against an oak and was twirling his knife.

“Don’t be an idiot. I would have sensed you the mili-second you laid your putrid eyes on me."

“Then how come you hadn't noticed me until I opened my mouth."

My eyes widened. He was right. He had been watching that whole fight. Yet, not once did I feel his presence. Or hear his footsteps. What... what is he? He broke into a maniac like laugh.

 “Shocked are we?”

I just stood there, Emotionless. I had nothing else to say to him. By now, I would have killed him but something told me not to even try. And I obeyed.

 "I'll be watching you, sweetie."

And with that he disappeared into the night, leaving me alone once again. I took a deep breath and walked the opposite way he ran. Through the whole stroll, I couldn't stop asking myself one question. What was he? He most certainly is no human. Nor one of us. He just couldn't fit the description. I decided to give it up for today as I climbed up an oak and laid down onto one of its strong branches. I intertwined my fingers and looked up. Even as I hoped to see the sparkling night sky, the upper branches and leaves wouldn't let it happen.

 “Another sleepless night."

 I thought to myself.
