I could feel cold metal on my back and the rush of cool air hitting my face. My eyes pried themselves open and I saw that I was in a dimly lit room. There was a lady sitting behind a desk with a computer and papers. Medical equipment adorned the wall behind her and I immediately assumed this was the nurse's office. I sat up from the metal bed and rubbed my throbbing temples.

"Morning, sleeping beauty." The nurse said kindly. I tossed my legs over the side of the bed and grabbed the cup of water on the side table, "what happened?" I asked. The nurse explained my state of unconsciousness after my anxiety attack in music. "There are three boys waiting outside for you. It's been an hour since school let out and they haven't left since." She said. I knew two of the three would most likely be Calum and Michael but I wasn't sure who the third would be.

I thanked the nurse and fixed hair before leaving. As I assumed, Michael and Calum stood up to greet me with worried looks on their faces. "(y/n) are you alright?" Calum asked. I nodded and looked at the third boy. He was slightly shorter than Michael and his hair was in a fringe like Michael's but not as long. "Sorry for making you guys wait," I said nervously. Michael placed a hand on my back as he lead me out of the school.

"Oh, (y/n), this is Luke." Calum pushed the shy blonde towards me and I smiled. "Hello." I didn't stutter this time. In front of a cute boy. Goal= achieved. "Uh, hi." He said, his voice cracking a bit. I laughed as his face turned red and he hid his face in his hands. "So, (y/n), where do you live?" Michael asked, "in the least creepiest way possible." I lead the boys down a few streets away from the school until we reached my block. It was already getting dark out.

"Mum is going to kill me," Luke fretted. "Hey, don't feel like you need to walk all the way to my front porch. I can handle it from here." Calum and Luke made their ways home but Michael, being stubborn as he is, agreed to walk me home. We walked in silence before he broke it. "Calum said you can sing." He said monotonously. Catching me off guard, I hesitated before answering. "I-I guess." "Then why'd you freak out today?" I paused for a bit longer, "I-I don't know. I don't ever sing in front of people. I don't want to mess up and sound bad for them." My voice trails off, leaving us in silence once more. "Do you mess up when you're alone?" He asked. "Well, no," we were coming up closer to my house. "Then what makes you think you're going to mess up in front of people?" I stopped. Staring up at my house with warm light emitting from the windows, I was unsure of what words to use. I was speechless.

"Thank you for walking me home. I'll see you tomorrow, Mikey." I flashed him a smile before running inside, slamming the door behind me and sliding down the wooden entrance. I buried my head in my knees in frustration. Dammit. Damn Michael's argument. Damn my anxiety. Just damn it all. I began to cry, feeling ridiculous that I was crying over something like this. My mind was boggled until Michael's voice appeared again. "Don't cry, love, I'm here for you." I heard his footsteps run off of the porch and down the steps. Finally feeling calm, I headed upstairs and changed into a dark grey t-shirt and a pair of black yoga leggings. Michael's words ran through my head and I began to think about the solo. Without eating dinner, I took off my makeup and brushed my teeth before laying back down and pulling out a notebook. I wrote down every bit of Michael's words and took a deep breath before stashing the notebook away and finally feeling the effortless bliss of sleep.
