Zoe was a goddess, the goddess of patience, loved flowers of all colors, she loved putting them in her golden hair. She loved the smell of the breeze as it calmly curled around her. Mortals had no fear of her when she was as calm as the breeze, but when she got tricked or even a little angry, she did horrible things. Zoe could turn anything to dust with just one look from her bright blue and purple eyes and the right amount of words. She loved her powers and being a god, but it came with a price. Whoever is impatient in her presence will be murdered by her.
Picking flowers, Zoe frolicked through the fields of blue and red, her crown of flowers woven from her fingertips was swaying as she twirled and danced her way through. She had waited all year for them to finally open and spread their yellow pollen in the sweetly tasting wind. She ran her hand through the flowers and smelled each one as she went. When she reached the end of the path she met a young man waiting for his wife. "She never gets here on time and I am tired of waiting for her." He shouted into the air as he turned around. He paid no attention as he ran right in to Zoe. "Sorry." he hurriedly said in a gruff tone.
"You should be more patient with your wife." Zoe said in a small voice to which he just shook his head and shoved her to the ground and walked away from her. She shouted at him, " You do not disrespect me for I am the goddess of Patience, Zoe." He slowly turned around in horror.
"I am... I didn't know it was you." He stuttered, "I am sorry for my impatience."
"It is too late for that now," Zoe said in a thunderous voice of the gods, she stood as tall as she could. She was fed up with mortals thinking they do not have enough time. They are always rushing about. In her eyes mortals loved to worry. She was the goddess of patience she quickly thought I will not take this anymore. He must be punished. "From now on you shall spend the rest of your days waiting for one that will never come. It will be reversed when you have learned the price of Patience." He turned to run but she was fast on his heels she stared him in the eye when he looked back. He froze like ice in a cold freezer the cold spreading through his body like a cold winter wind. His feet froze first. Then came his legs. Then his torso and arms. The last thing to freeze was his face. His face frozen in the same grim expression he would be stuck with forever. Then he turned to cold, hard, stone.
Zoe ran down the path to meet the young maiden, who was waiting for her husband. She had hair the colour of rubies and eyes that were green like seaweed.
"Hi, have you seen my husband?" She asked in a small high pitched voice.
"Yes, I just saw him on the hill, but he is turned to stone!" Zoe said in a fake frantic voice. The young maiden ran to her husband and fell to the ground weeping tears of sorrow, but no matter what she did he did not come back to life, so she left him there, waiting & waiting, for the one that will never come.
