"Even though my life before was tragic, now I know my love for her goes on"
Maya and Riley sat at the bay window. They had been sitting there for quite a while, and Maya's grip on Riley had loosened greatly, though she still held the brunettes hand, slowly running her thumb over the back of her hand, trying to calm her down.
Riley loved the feeling of Maya's hand in hers. It just felt so... Right.
Maya sighed deeply, and looked up into Riley's chocolate brown eyes. "Riley, do you have something you want to tell me?" Maya prodded gently, not wanting Riley to shut down again, although she did enjoy what happened after that.
"Keep it together, clutterbucket. You can't mess this up too. It's the last good thing you have left." Maya mentally scolded herself, remembering all the tears, sleepless nights and fights before Riley had come along and saved her. She wouldn't be who she was today without her. She hated to risk such a great thing, but she needed to know how she felt.
Riley suddenly found a crack in the wood in her room so much more interesting than Maya's question. The perky brunette refused to look into the rebellious girls eyes, terrified she would spill her hear out then and there.
Maya became frustrated at Riley's stubbornness. At best it was cute, at worst it was infuriating. This was the latter. Maya just wanted to know how Riley felt. She had felt something stronger when she stared into the taller girls eyes than she had ever felt before. Of course, Maya had thought of Riley "In that way" but she never considered that Riley could possibly reciprocate the feelings.
Maya had spent too many nights thinking about the girls gorgeous chocolate locks or positive outlook on life or adorable dimples or eyes that always saw the best in people to get her hopes up.
"Hope is for suckers.... Right?" Maya thought tentatively, still weary of taking that chance.
Maya brushed her fingers under Riley's chin to bring her face in the same direction as hers. Riley felt tears start to pool In her eyes, dripping down her cheeks slowly.
"why do we have to feel? We shouldn't have to have feelings.. We don't know anything from them..." Riley pondered while finally meeting Maya's eyes. Noticing the brunettes tears, Maya's eyes softened immediately and she gently wiped away the droplets from Riley's cheeks, caressing her face as she did.
Riley knew that in that moment, everything would change.
"What am I doing... What am I doing... Stop. Stop. You'll ruin everything. Of course she doesn't feel the same way. You're goofy and silly and weird and you probably get in the way of where she is looking." Riley's thoughts pressed against her head, Alarm heels ringing in Her brain. Her lips didn't get the memo.
Maya realized Riley was leaning closer and instinctively wrapped her arms around the younger girls waist, bringing her closer. Maya's eyes fluttered shut in anticipation, as did Riley's.
Riley paused slightly, giving Maya the option to bail, but Maya closed the gap between them without a second thought.
Their lips melded together perfectly, moving in a slow rhythm. Maya captured Riley's smooth plum-pink lip in hers, savoring every second.
Riley moved even closer to Maya, if that was possible, and ran her hand through her golden locks, tangling them between her fingers.
Maya bit down gently on Riley's lower lip and softly ran her tongue over her mouth, eliciting a small moan from Riley.Maya prodded her mouth for entrance and it was granted. She slipped her tongue into the brunettes mouth, exploring while Riley moved her hands down to Maya's neck, gently touching as much of her as possible. Shocks of electricity ran through Maya's body. She had never felt anything like this before. She had never felt so... Content.
Riley broke the kiss to nibble on Maya's neck, slowly moving from behind her ear to her neck to her collarbone, trailing kisses and listening to the moans escaping Maya's lips. Goosebumps erupted all over riley. Her mind was deliciously shut down. Recapturing Riley's lips in hers, Maya gently pushed the taller girl down onto her back, caressing her back and hungrily kissing her jaw.
"Whoah... She's a good kisser..." Both girls thought simultaneously.
Maya finally broke the kiss And looked down at the brunette. Riley looked up at the blonde, pure adoration and happiness filling both of their souls.
Maya laid down next to her, pulling her closer and nuzzling into her neck. After a couple minutes of just laying there, Riley spoke up, absentmindedly running her fingers down Maya's arm, which was wrapped around the taller girls waist."Hey Maya... I do have something to tell you..." Riley started, adjusting her position to look at the blonde better.
"What is it Riles?" Maya asked, propping herself up on one elbow.
Riley smiled her big toothy grin. "You're a good kisser." She blushed heavily, looking away from Maya.
Maya giggled and kissed her forehead, snuggling into her more.
"Ditto, Matthews. Ditto."
