Levy spent the next week or so under Polyushka's care. The wound on her arm was healing slowly, and the scratch on her cheek was finally beginning to scar. Polyushka had told her that, though the scars would remain forever, as long as she took good care of it till it was fully healed, the scars should be faint and barely noticeable. Levy was slightly pleased, but she knew she wouldn't have cared if it had scared properly.

However, Polyushka had told her that the wounds on her arm would scar for definite, and they wouldn't be dainty little white scars either. Levy had just smiled softly and shrugged her shoulders. Polyushka had tutted and left the room.

After a week had passed, and neither Jet no Droy had woken up, Polyushka decided that Levy didn't need to stay any longer, so she could run off home. When Levy tried to kick up a fuss, Polyushka threatened her with her broom, and Levy exited the house swiftly. She had almost reached the edge of the village, when she came across Laxus, who said a swift goodbye to his group of friends and hurried over. "Levy!" He called. "Where are you going?"

"Home." Levy said mildly, shifting uncomfortably. What Wendy had said only a week ago was still fresh in her mind, and it made her feel so very awkward.

Laxus' eyes widened. "Alone?" He asked. "I know it's daytime, but it's not safe to be wandering through the woods alone. Especially as the beast already has a taste of your blood." He added. "Allow me to accompany you. I'd never forgive myself if you were to get hurt again."

Levy smiled and resisted the temptation to point out the beast had clawed her, not bitten her. "No, thank you, Laxus. I'll be fine. It's daytime, and anyway, I'm sure you have better things to do than walk me home."

"Of course not." Laxus replied.

"Really, Laxus." Levy said a little more firmly. "No. Thank you. It was a kind gesture, but I'll be fine." She insisted. Laxus scowled, but nodded, and Levy walked into the woods alone. She sighed once she was out of sight of the village. She didn't really want to be out in the woods alone, but nor did she want Laxus to get the wrong message. Besides, she didn't really believe the beast would attack her again, let alone in broad daylight.
