Cruising through the Miami streets, all Lisa could do was wonder what went wrong.
She thought everything went perfect for their first night together, well, from
the looks of it, their only night together. What she couldn’t understand was why
he ran out of there. If it was like that, he shouldn’t have even stayed the night.
Hell, for all she cared he could’ve left right afterwards, which would’ve
probably been better, then he might have at least said good-bye.
Men. When she thinks she has them pegged, they turn around and do something
stupid. Now she realized all of that talk about “claiming what’s his” was all a lie.
‘Damn it! How could I be so blind?’
When she pulled into the parking deck, her phone began ringing. It was Monica, again.
By now she was sure that Monica was worried.
“Hello.”
“Lisa. Thank God you are alright. I have been calling you all morning. I even sent a text
message to you last night checking to see if you at least made it home safely.”
“Monica, I’m fine. At least from a physical stand point.”
“What does that supposed to mean? What happened?”
“I’m heading to Chante’s. If you want, you can meet me for brunch.”
“That’s fine. I will call you when I get to the parking garage.”
After ending their phone call, Lisa got out the car. She headed
into Chante’s and was greeted by Anthony. His face immediately lit up when
he saw her. He knew he was going to get a good commission check after she left
the store.
“Good morning Lisa! You are looking glam as usual.”
“Good morning Anthony. Thank you love.”
“Before you ask, we have a new inventory in and of course I put aside a few things
just for you.” He stated with a wink. Lisa smiled at him appreciatively.
“Well then, let me check them out.”
Anthony went to grab the shoes and when he said a few things, he was being modest.
He returned with ten various name brand shoes, not one in the same color.
After Lisa tried on all of her shoes, she told Anthony to bag them up.
He smiled the entire time while ringing her up. The total cost came up to $10,000.
Without a blink of the eye, Lisa handed over her card and she was out the door.
Monica called and stated she had already parked and was heading to their usual spot,
Level One. When they arrived, the waitress greeted them and escorted them to their seats.
Immediately, Monica started to ask different questions.
“Was that the guy you met at the mall? I thought you haven’t spoken to him?
How did he end up at the party? Why was he wearing all black? Did you go home
with him?”
“Monica, please. You are starting to make my head hurt with all of these questions.”
