Can you see my soul?
What is it you see?
Because I no longer recognise me.
Mirrors reflect back
What cannot be so
The girl that they show is not who I know.
And yet there she is
As plain as the day
A girl with a temper she must obey.
She's lost to her rage
The girl that they show
I don't understand how this can be so.
Her heart's made of ice
With layers of stone
Inside, she cries, as she's all on her own.
Terror she inflicts
On all who draw near
Consumed by her pain, by all of her fear.
Sorrow buried deep
Hidden underneath
Silent tears fall, the sole sign of her grief.
She hides from the world
From all that's unclear
Afraid to hope, afraid to persevere.
Underneath her mask
Is the girl within
The girl uncorrupt, the girl without sin.
her hair like the night
With eyes that are cold
In their ghastly depths are stories untold.
In her silent plea
She shakes and she cries
Deep within is where her true form now hides.
The nights and days pass
"Tick tock" goes the clock
Fragile as glass, cannot bear one more knock.
Her remnants remain
Are all that is left
The one she once loved committed the theft.
Broken forever
No longer a whole
She's slipping away, she's not in control.
Can you see my soul?
What is it you see?
Because I no longer recognise me.
