Chapter 8: January

Sat. January 1st, 2011 9:00am
(New Years day🌈)

It was 9:00am when Keke woke up. She had looked her phone for a any text messages or notifications. She had seen three un-read messages and clicked on them. Two were from Dani at 12:00am and one was from Chad at 12:02am.

> Chad💚: hey. Happy New Years😚 love you

> DaniBoy😍: hey baby Happy New Years😘😘
> DaniBoy😍: Wyd?

Keke had read both text and replied to Dani's.

< hey happy new year I fell asleep

Dani didn't reply so Keke thought he may be sleep from partying on New Years. Keke got out of bed and went to her bathroom for a shower. She brushed her teeth while the water warmed up, then stripped of her clothes.

12:00pm

It was noon time and Keke was just sitting around watching the snow fall for the first time this winter. She had wished it snowed on Christmas; sadly it didn't. As Keke watched the snow fall she became cold.

Charles: you cold baby girl

Keke: yeah a little

Charles walked over to the fire place then turned the gas on low. He picked up a nearby piece of wood and threw it inside the fire place. He then flick the other switch which lit the fire.

After a good five minutes Keke could feel it getting warm.

Charles: wanna watch a movie?

Keke: sure

Charles then picked up the remote and went to the recordings. He scrolled down until he seen 'winters diary'. He then pushed play.

It was a good twenty minutes into the movie when Charles looked over at Keke and seen her still looking out the window.

Charles: Ke?

Keke: yes?

Charles: your mom told me what's been happening lately

Keke: like?

Charles: you leaving the house whenever you want, and coming back whenever. And also about the disrespect toward her.

Keke: it's not like anyone cares anyway. Her and Chad do their thing so I do mine. I'm not going to sit in the house all day while their gone.

Charles: yeah Ke I understand where you coming from but you still can't leave whenever you want to.

Keke: yeah whatever...Daniel's the only one that ever cares about me
-Keke whispered-

Charles: so all this is over a boy?

Keke: he's not just any boy.

Charles: so what is he?😒

Keke: look you wouldn't understand okay? All I know is I love him and he loves me, and the decisions I make are based on me not the influence of anyone else😠

Keke then got up and walked away. She skipped up the stairs until she reached the top. She them strutted to her bedroom. She quickly went inside, closed and locked the door.

Today was Kelsey and Kelly's birthday. Everyone thought it would be a good idea to do a party at a banquet center instead of their backyard. Keke was bored to death. She was the only teenager their; besides her mothers friends children and her cousins. Keke didn't bother hanging with them because they were the uppity type. They didn't understand what chill meant.
Keke sat at her table quietly when her phone started ringing. She picked her up her phone to see her friend Stacey calling. Keke the slid the green bar.
