I huffed out a breath in frustration. This is not how I thought I'd spend my summer. I came here to have a good time and spend sometime with my brother and his family, but I guess the world picked now as a good time to end.

I finally got my boot out of the mud. Yeah, you thought I was doing something cool but no, I'm not cool. I don't do cool.

I wiped the mud off my boot and put it back on, making sure not to get more mud on my shoe. I trudged through the forest until I saw something interesting. A light blue tent was just sitting there. I carefully approached the tent and quietly opened the flap. No one seemed to be inside, and there was nothing useful inside. It wasn't not covered in dirt or blood either. That's a good sign.

I looked around and saw a few more tents like this. Wait, does that mean... People?

I crouched down slightly and hide behind a bush. I peeked over the bush and saw a group of people. There was an older looking man sitting on an RV with binoculars and a sniper, a few ladies folding clothes, a few men just talking and 2 men cooking.

As I continued to look around at these people I didn't hear the person behind me. "Who the hell are you?!" I practically jumped out of my skin as I turned around to see a man that I thought I'd never see. By now other people from the group have come over to see the commotion but I just sat there shocked. "Audrey?" The man asked, obviously confused. I decided to play it off cool and say, "Hey Shane, How's it going?"

Shane chuckled and helped me up giving me a bro hug, knowing I'm not one for hugs. People from the group were still confused as to why I was there but they suddenly forget that I was spying on them after Carl yelled out, "Aunt Audrey!" Carl gave me a bone crushing hug, and I wear my back cracked.

"Hey Bud." I say and give him an awkward pat on the back. Lori came and joined the hug and forced me to hug back.

"What brings you to Georgia?" Shane asked. "Well that's a good question there, Shane m'boy. I was here to come visit but things didn't really work. With the end of the world and all." I replied, saying the last part a little quieter. He nodded his head and everyone went back to what they were doing.

"By the way," Shane called out. "Welcome to paradise." I smiled at his lame attempt of a joke and turned as I walked off, well, I was pulled off by Carl.

*~~* Time Skip *~~*

I've met most of the people in the group and they all seem like really nice people.

"So Aunt Audrey, were you actually coming to visit us?" Carl asked, right now I sitting beside Carl as he coloured. "Yeah, and ya wanna know a secret?" His eyes light up. "Yeah!" I laughed slightly and shushed him.

"Well, the only reason I found you and yer mum was because this." I stuck out my hand and Carl immediately looked down. It was a black compass that when you flipped it over, it was a watch.

Carl's eyes brightened even more. I could bring this boy anything and he'd be happy. I placed it in his hands and he immediately crushed me in a hug. Again. "Thank you so much Aunt Audrey!"

He then ran over to Lori to show her the gift. Me and Lori made eye contact and she signalled her eyes to the forest. I hesitantly walked over to the forest and waited. She sent Carl off to go and hangout with the other kids at camp and walked over to me.
