"...and then she said that we should just be friends," I said, downing the last drops of my beer. I looked over to my best friend, Danny, still looking at me in shock.
He finally spoke up and said, "So she cheated on you... With Chris?!"
I nodded sadly. Heck, it surprised the hell out of me, too. Yet, somehow, deep inside, I knew the man couldn't have been gay. He couldn't stop staring at a lady's chest when we went to the beach last weekend.
I looked back up at Danny. He looked pensive. Suddenly, he yanked his head up so fast, I'm surprised he didn't have whiplash.
"You have to get her back, man!" Danny exclaimed.
I looked at him in shock. "We are talking about the same woman, right? Short blond hair, kinda short, big breasts. Has the heart of Satan himself?"
Danny clicked his tongue and shook his head at me. "Not back into a relationship. I meant get her back as in you have to get some kind of revenge!" He explained to me.
I shook my head slowly and said, "Nah, you know me, man. I can't do something like that. It's over. That's all that matters. I mean, at least I didn't marry her..."
Then, all of a sudden, Danny stands up, making the chair fall. "What do you mean you can't do something like that?" He bellowed.
People were starting to look now. Hell, I would, too, if a large 6' tan man stood up in rage. I would probably run or call the cops.
Luckily, neither happened.
Suddenly feeling embarrassed, I looked down at my plate and whispered loudly to Danny, "Dude. Sit down. People are starting to look..."
He huffs, picks his chair off the floor and sits down. "Fine. But you have to understand. This woman USED you!"
I looked at him, irritated. "You don't have to rub it in."
"That's not what I'm trying to do, man. I'm trying to get you to understand that you can't just let this chick get away with using you and stomping all over your heart!" Danny exclaimed.
"I guess you have a point, but I really don't want to start anything. She just did what her dad wanted her to do. Besides, you know I'm not one to confront..." I said to him, shrugging my shoulders.
"You're fucking with me, right? You're a fucking genius who's met the fucking president. You have millions, maybe even billions, sitting in the bank and you say that you 'can't confront'?" Danny said, outraged.
"Danny, calm down. It's fine. I needed to learn what heartbreak felt like eventually. I couldn't just live in a fool's world forever." I said, trying to reason with the large man.
"Do you even hear yourself? You sound like a fucking pussy, man!" Danny said, looking incredulously at me.
"So what do you want me to do about it?" I questioned, slightly exasperated.
"I want you to make her regret ever doing this to you. Ruin her relationship with that dumbass. Make her beg for you. Get that asshole father of hers to admit what a little cheat he is to the world!" Danny declared. But I still looked at him disbelieving.
"And how exactly am I going to do all of this?" I asked him.
"Find a girl. A perfect girl who'll worm her way into their family and ruin their relationships and business. A girl who'll knock the socks off Sophia and get her so jealous that she'll forget that Chris and come running back to you."
"But I don't want her back!" I exclaimed.
"He's such an idiot for a genius," muttered Danny to himself. "When she comes back to you, you're supposed to reject her. Make her feel just like you felt when you saw them together."
