My heart was pounding harder than ever before, moving a mile a second. I rubbed my eyes and blinked a few times. What the heck?! I was so bewildered, still a bit shock and even frightened. I felt like I was suffocating for a few moments, and I had to take a deep breath. Fear was choking me like a thick fog, blocking all my judicious thoughts. My body's temperature changed from cozy warm to a sharp, frigid pain and I couldn't move a muscle. I let out a yawn and my arms willingly stretched out. I blinked a few more times and finally stood up. It was just a dream, I told myself several times as I headed to the bathroom. I looked at the mirror, only to see someone that looks just like me with smeared mascara, drizzled down to my cheeks. Was I crying? I shook it off and turned on the radio that's in the bathroom. Hollaback Girl came blasting out of the radio and let me relaxed a bit. I took a quick shower and sang along with the lyrics. I dressed into a white long gown and straightened my hair, applying mascara and lipstick as well. I had to relax, and not let that bizarre dream distract me.
I can't get distracted because mother is coming back home today, and I want to show a good impression. I want her to know that I am responsible enough to go to the specific place I have dreamed to go for high school, East Royale High. The best school ever! Just take deep breaths and relax. I was just about to serve myself some oatmeal, a small bowl of fruit, and some water (I have to keep a good diet) when the doorbell rang. I jumped at the sound and took another deep breath. Keep breathing, I thought. I smoothed out my dress and made sure the house was cleaned up. I then opened the door. I tried to breath, but the sight of my mother was breathtaking. "Hi sweetie! How are you? Have you missed me? Are you keeping a balanced diet? Oh, and your father is coming soon, too. We have something to talk about with you." My mother, Aremelle, smiled at me and gave me a warm hug. I smiled back and let her inside, yawning and stretching, still a bit tired. "Hi mom! I'm fine, thank you for asking, and yes , I have missed you! And I am keeping a balanced diet." I answered my mom. I opened the fridge and took out an angel cake for mother and handed her a slice. "Mmmm! This tastes heavenly! So moisture, sweet, and the smell! You really outdone yourself." she complimented. I beamed with joy and opened the door, and a laugh came inside along with my mother's. My father sat beside my mother and they both whispered something, only, I can hear them because of my vampire hearing. "Should we let her go somewhere that far? I do not think she's responsible enough. " Mother whispered. "It's time, honey." Father stated. She nodded, her face looking so down. I wanted to say that I heard what they were saying, but I just didn't. Instead, I ask, "What did you guys want to talk about?" But I already know.
"Angelic, me and your mother believe that you are able to take care of yourself now, and... we think that you should go to the high school you desire to go to. BUT! You must make sure that you don't reveal your identity. You know why and you must obey our orders, or death will surely come to you." He warned me. I nodded, with a serious look. But inside of me wanted to scream, YES!!! I wanted to do my victory dance right there, but of course I couldn't do that in front of a king and queen, and I was a princess. That is not the mature thing to do. My father threw a perplexed look and smiled. He knew what I was thinking. "Take it easy Angel." he said. I kissed my forehead, and nodded at mother.
"Now... so you won't forget us, we decided to give you some presents." She took out an elegant box, carved with an angel holding a vampire's hand and a baby in the mother's arm. I opened the box and in it was the most beautiful locket I have ever seen. It was pure gold with a shade of blue, a butterfly on the top of the heart. I opened it to see a picture of the family all together and on the other side of the locket, was nothing, but a tiny note that said, "Place your family here." I smiled at mother and the knot in my throat let loose and I began to weep. She smoothed out my hair and began to cry as well. We all hugged each other for what seemed forever and then, father gave me his present to me. It was another box, only, it was shaped as a heart, black on one side, and white on the other. I opened it to see a ring and necklace, that was priceless and beautiful and... breathtaking. My eyes widen with delight and overwhelm, and I had to hug father again. All these gifts were not only priceless, but were made with love from mother and father. Then, the last gift was the crown. The crown was amazing and glistened with the sun. Mom placed it on my head and we all hugged each other one final time. We celebrated for the rest of the day to the end of the night, feasting on blood, cake, salad, rich chocolate, etc. Mom and dad tucked me in bed that night, and kissed me goodnight. Then, mother whispered something to my ear. "Patience, sweetie. Wait for a while for your love, ok. Don't jump into conclusions and be careful. Take care, and I've already packed your things by the way." She closed my door and mouthed the word patience one last time and closed the door.
