AMBER POV
The soft ice underneath my skates was ready to support me.
I begin my routine, starting with a crossover-backwards, and I feel the wind lashing gently on my skin. I begin to turn counter-clockwise, and enter my spin. Everything is balanced out, perfect, and I feel like nothing can stop me.
Until I saw a flash of bright red zoom past me, right before my eyes.
I quickly lost my concentration, and I begin to feel myself fall face first.
And....
CLICK!
I hear someone's skate blades collide with mine.
"Oh my god," I hear a boy's voice.
"Shit!" I yell as I feel like passing out. A pair of soft and firm hands are resting on my shoulders, and I realize that I am not on the ground.
"
What the f-"
I look up, and I could not fucking believe it.
It was Thomas.
"Hey, are you alright?" He asks me.
Oh my god.
I just stare at him like a crazy person, and I can feel the heat rise to my cheeks.
"Yeah um, I'm okay, thanks," I reply in a squeaky voice.
"Wow, you scared me when you started to fall! Thank god I caught you," Thomas chuckled.
I literally could not believe this was happening. He helped me regain my balance, and I straightened out my shirt and looked up at him.
"You are amazing!" He exclaimed, and I noticed that he started to blush.
"Thanks," I said back, with a warm smile. I could feel my cheeks get even more red.
"Have I ever seen you before?" He asks me.
"Um yeah I think so. You skate usually at Penny Royal rink, right?" I replied.
"Yeah!" He said cheerfully.
"Cool," I responded, letting out a nervous laugh.
"Hey, um.. Do you maybe want to go get some coffee sometime soon?" Thomas asks me, and I immediately reply:
"Yeah, that sounds great!"
"See you soon?"
"Yeah!" I say.
"Okay! Well, I better get going!" He says.
"Thanks again! I mean, for helping me!"
He skates away in a flash, and then he was gone.
Yes.
Step #1: get his attention.
Check.
