_____
Luke's pov.
"Luke, baby, can you please shave your beard?" Arzaylea asked as she sat on my lap.
"Why?" I asked, looking at her.
"Because... it makes you look scruffy, and dirty. I don't like it. Besides, when we kiss, it scratches me, and it itches it," she replied, slightly pouting.
"Well I kind of like it," I shrugged, continuing to watch the movie that was playing.
"Well I don't," Arzaylea simply said.
"Well I don't care what you think. Just because you're my girlfriend doesn't mean you get to control every aspect of my life," I shot back, "besides, this is the fourth time you've told me that this week. I thought you would've given up by now because I do, in fact, say no every time. So stop asking me to, because I'm not going to do it."
Arzaylea looked at me, wide-eyed, just as the doorknob started to jiggle. We both looked to the side, seeing Calum open the door to our shared apartment.
"Hey Lu-"
He looked at Arzaylea, who was still sitting on my lap.
"Oh. She's here," Calum said, crossing his arms.
"Yes, I'm here. Got a problem with that?" Arzaylea asked, wrapping her arms around my neck and pulling herself closer to me as I rolled my eyes.
Arzaylea always got touchy when Calum was around. I told her about my old crush on Calum, which caused to get jealous of him every time and found the need to show her possession over me every time he walked in the room, even though I told her that my crush on him was gone.
Probably. Possibly.
Calum wasn't a big fan of her either, claiming that she was a 'clingy bitch' and only wanted me for sex.
Probably. Possibly.
But was I going to admit that to Arzaylea?
No.
"No I don't. I'm pretty sure Luke does, seeing that he just rolled his eyes at you," Calum scoffed.
Arzaylea looked at me which caused me to find a sudden interest in the wall.
"Well anyway, Ash and I are going rock climbing tomorrow, so I need to get some rest," Calum said, "good night."
"Good night Calum," I told him.
He waved to Arzaylea as he walked down the hallway to his room. It wasn't long until I heard a door close.
Arzaylea smirked, before she pulled herself closer and started to place numerous kisses on my face. She paused with the kisses then leaned in so her lips lingered on my earlobe.
"Now that he's gone... why don't we have our own fun?" She whispered in an attempted seductive voice.
"Um, I'll pass," I told her, pushing her away, "besides, I'm tired. I just want to finish this movie and go to sleep."
"Suit yourself," she shrugged, resting her head on my chest, continuing to have her hands wrapped around my neck.
I rolled my eyes, seeing her eyes follow the events on the screen.
Now I was seeing where Calum was getting the words 'clingy bitch'.
____
*next day*
"You really have a beard growing there don't you?" Calum asked as he fixed his hair in the bathroom mirror.
"Yeah. I haven't shaved in forever," I replied, washing my face.
"Have you ever thought of shaving though?" He asked, looking directly at me.
I shrugged.
"It's just a suggestion, but... can you? Shave your beard, I mean," Calum timidly told me.
I furrowed my eyebrows.
"Why?" I asked, looking back at him.
"Because... well, it makes you look older, a lot older. You're only twenty-two, but you looked like you aged ten years with that beard," Calum explained.
"Well what are you trying to say?" I asked.
"I just wouldn't want you to get hit on by some dude that's ten years older than you. That would be uncomfortable, and disgusting," Calum told me, wrinkling his nose, "besides, you with a smooth chin is hot. It'd probably be great to feel in make out sessions."
He winked as I raised my eyebrows. At this point, I couldn't tell if Calum was indirectly asking if he wanted to make out with me or not.
"Well anyway, it's up to you. It's your beard, not mine," Calum said, shrugging, "I'm going out with Ash. I'll be back later tonight."
"Okay. See you Cal."
"Bye Luke. Have fun with your girlfriend."
I scoffed. At this point, it was a pain to even have to spend a minute with Arzaylea. At first, I loved the thought of dating her and spending time with her. Now, I wasn't so sure.
Calum then walked out of the bathroom and down the hallway towards the door. It wasn't long until I heard a door open and close.
Almost immediately, I dug my shaver out of the bathroom drawer and my bottle of shaving crème. It was even quicker where I looked in the mirror and found my entire beard covered with shaving crème. Soon enough, I was pressing the shaver to my chin and taking off the beard I grown to be proud of.
Was I doing it for Arzaylea?
No. Hell no.
Was I doing it for Calum?
Well... probably.
