Jerkface makes a comeback

For the last couple of days all I could think about was Madison. I might not have been her friend at the time this all happened but i still was upset, a lot. I mean, who wouldn't be upset if you found your old best friend dead in an alleyway that you two used to hang out in when you were little? All of this just really didn't make sense to me, during the days that have passed since then I have spent most of my time trying to convince myself that this wasn't real. Maybe I would just wake up from this terrible nightmare to my mom making pancakes and eggs and my family gathering around the dining room table with a burning candle in the middle eating breakfast and talking to one another like normal. But I had snapped out of my trance when someone knocked on my bedroom door. I quickly got up an threw on a baggy grey sweater from my schools swim team last summer to hide the fact that i was only wearing a bra and sweatpants. I opened the door slowly and to my surprised the person standing behind it was my mom.
"Scarlett? Someone wants to speak to you" She moved out of the way of the door and there stood the little jerkface that I once called my boyfriend, CAMERON.
"Why the  hell are you here?!" I said beginning to close the door.
"Please, just let me explain"
"Whatever but mom, I am getting you back and don't think I won't" I walked to my bed and sat down leaving a spot for him beside me.
"Look, I know you probably don't want to see me at all but i wanted to explain to you why I didn't show up yesterday. My mom took me to my great grandather's funeral and after that I decided not to go because being there made me realize that I have lost a lot of people throughout my life lately and I don't want to loose you too so I stayed home. I guess I just didn't want to screw things up more between us then I already have but it's too late now anyways"
"bullshit" i said looking at him weirdly
"What? Scarlett, I love you and I want you back but I just don't know how! I've tried every way I could think of but none of them seem to work." and that's when it happened, he leaned in to kiss me and I quickly pulled away.
"What do you think your doing?!"
"I'm so sorry, I'll just go now..." he said exiting the room and nearly falling down the stairs. I giggled a little and curled back into bed with the covers only on half of my body and practically stayed there until dinner.
