She looks up from her computer as she hears the voice that always made her heart smile. But now, after what he has done, she no longer smiles.
She cried herself to sleep, every night.
She wondered if there was anything left to live for.
She was going to end it all.
But then she found new hope, a new light in her life.
She had had dark times in her past, but she was on a better road now. With better people.
"What are you doing here?" She asks, surprisingly softly, the anger; she kept inside.
"I wanted to come and see how you were doing, and I..."
"You didn't care before, why do you care now?" She says cutting him off
"I did care Livia! Don't ever say I that I don't care!"
"Sure" she says, again, softly, as she gets up from her desk. She puts on her coat and takes her sons hand as they leave her office.
"Livia please just talk to me" he begs as he runs after her into the squad room.
"You had your chance to talk, to explain yourself. But I guess I wasn't on your priority list" she says before leaving the precinct. When Olivia gets back to her apartment she sees Ed's car parked outside. She sighs as she realises that he probably used his spare key, and let himself in.
The two walk up stairs, well Olivia carries Noah been as he is tired.
"Mommy who was that man?"
"He erm, he was one of mommy's old friends"
"Are you still friends?"
"I don't know"
"Did you argue with him?"
"Something like that" she kisses his forehead before putting him on the floor to open her apartment door.
"Did he hurt your feelings?" The five year old persists to ask
"Noah, you know when you fall out with someone on the playground. And you don't speak to them. that's what is like. We haven't spoken in a while..."
"But mommy, I always make friends in the end. Will you make friends with him?"
