RADHA
Radha stared at the masked figures with a feeling of growing panic. She strained and tugged at her bonds with all her might, to get as far away from her captors as she possibly could, but to no avail. She could see Song struggling next to her out of the corner of her eye. But then, one of the figures spoke.
"Stop."
The woman. She stepped forward, and motioned to her companion. He pulled out a slim rectangle from his pocket and pressed a button. Immediately, the cots she and Song were lying on rose up so that they were in a sitting position, facing the two strangers. The bonds, however, Radha noticed, remained as taut as ever.
"We don't want to hurt you," the woman continued. "We just want to talk."
She pulled off her mask then, and her companion followed suit. The woman had dark, chocolate coloured skin and light brown eyes. Her long hair was pulled back in a tight ponytail. The man was tall and lean, with smooth ivory skin and dark almond eyes. His hair was a pale, white blonde, and he wore a pair of sleek silver glasses on his nose. The two of them looked hardly older than twenty-six. Radha simply stared at them. She had never seen anybody like these two in her life.
Now the man spoke. "I am Inigo, and this is Nova. We know you have had a very traumatic experience, and we apologize most sincerely for having caused it. I am sure you have a lot of questions, and we will answer them, but first" - he touched the remote again, and two large trays of food slid out of the walls in front of the two girls - "eat."
Radha's stomach growled violently, but she narrowed her eyes at the two adults. "How do we know you haven't poisoned anything?" Nova quirked an eyebrow, and Inigo's mouth twitched as they both turned to look at Song. She had been steadily shovelling the food into her mouth, but now she stopped and looked around wide-eyed.
"Well, Ms. Wu seems to be fine, so I think it's safe to assume that the food is poison-free ," said Nova, a faint smile tugging at her mouth. Radha shrugged and began to eat ravenously.
"Right," continued Inigo, once she and Song had somewhat slowed down, "I'm going to get straight to the point. You're both aliens. And so are we."
Song, who had been taking a large sip of water, sprayed it all over the wall in disbelief.
"WHAT?!"
