Chapter 4.
"The hell I will!" Zayn yelled, struggling against Liam as he glared at the man, the Cheshire Cat.
"Watch your mouth, darling." Liam spoke lowly into his ear as he held the boy tightly as he fought against his grip.
"I don't understand what the hell is going on here, but I am not some puppet or slave you tell to do things! I do not work for you nor do I follow orders from you! I am not one of your lackeys, Cat!" He yelled, the grin falling from Chesire's face as he stood up, suddenly seeming more menacing.
"Now, you listen here, you will listen and follow orders from me for it is I who has saved you from the other side and in return you will save us all. Is that understood?" He spoke venomously, each word feeling like a stab to Zayn.
"I'm not a hero, I'm not your Messiah come to save you all. I am just a boy, kidnapped from his home and brought to this insane place where a man who refers to himself as the Cheshire Cat, lives in a room that reeks of roses." He spat, glaring at the man although he immediately regretted it as soon as he stepped down from his throne, making his way to Zayn.
Zayn scowled as the man cupped his face with one hand, forcing the boy to look at him.
"Yes. You. Are." He spoke slowly, before releasing the boy's face as he sat back on his throne, his grin coming back, but this time it didn't seem friendly at all.
"Liam, bring him to the other room, and fill him in, prepare him for what is to come. Can't have our savior dying, now can we?" He asked with a grin, before letting out another laugh, as Liam yanked Zayn out of the tiled room, into a hallway filled with roses, the smell almost choking him.
He was soon dragged into a room, that seemed normal enough, although it was still bright, with the same cream tiles. The only difference was the sickening rose smell was gone.
"Care to explain what's going to happen to me now?" He asked Liam quite rudely.
The man sighed heavily, looking over at the boy as he leaned against the wallpapered wall of the room.
"You're the one." He said slowly, watching Zayn as the other male raised an eyebrow in confusion.
"I don't know what that means, you keep referring to me as something great but I'm unsure what any of this means." He spoke, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Allow me to explain then," Liam started off, pulling up a chair as he sat down, seeming more worn out than before. "Long ago, this land was broken into three section for each of our rulers. We have the Rabbit, the Caterpillar, and Chesire. Everything was fine, and everyone was happy with the arrangement until he returned, a dark creature, with no type of light in any part of it's being. He kills everyone, the rivers are red, and we need him to be stopped, that's where YOU, come into the picture, Zayn." He said softly as Zayn shook his head quickly.
"You want me to fight off a creature, that kills hundreds of thousands of people? Why? What's so special about me that you're putting all your faith in me?" Zayn asked, sighing heavily.
"We've been watching you, and we've come to the conclusion that you are the one from observing your behavior."
"How have you been doing that?" He asked curiously, slightly afraid at the thought of someone watching and observing his every move.
"Why, through the looking glass, of course."
