Chapter 11.

The next morning, Zayn woke up for training like he always did. The boy wasn't aware that it wouldn't be the giant brute running him dry today, so he took a deep breath before making his way down to wear training always was.

Instead of seeing his trainer standing across the room, massive arms crossed over his chest, he found a slight smile of the person leaning against the wall.

His heart leaped in his chest, and he couldn't quite understand why. Maybe it was because he was so relieved that he wouldn't be beaten bloody today, yes, that must've been it.

"Zayn," Liam said, nodding at him as he pushed himself off of the wall. "You're looking well."

"Yeah, well, a good night's sleep can do that to you." He murmured, pulling his hair out of his face as Liam laughed slightly.

"Glad you had a good rest, now, I hope your ready for training. You've been only working on hand to hand which is such bullshit for you to do because we need you for something else. Your trainer knew that, he was just trying to make sure you bled to the point of no return. I'll be dealing with him later." He spoke the last part coldly, before smiling at Zayn.

"Now, sit down, we're going back to the training you and I did. It's been awhile, so, just...try your best. I wanna see where your at." He said softly, sitting across from Zayn as the boy sat down.

Liam's gentleness was a shock for Zayn so as he sat down across from him, he offered a small smile. The dark haired boy then closed his eyes, trying to grasp onto the strings of color as he felt something bubble inside of him.

The training went on for hours, and Zayn was doing a lot better. He could conjure up small flames that would flicker out in two or three seconds, but it was something.

After nearly passing out from exhaustion so many times, Liam sat beside Zayn, wrapping an arm around his shoulder as he disregarded everything the Cheshire said.

"You're doing well Zayn, I'm actually quite proud of you." He said with a small laugh and Zayn rolled his eyes.

"Ah, yes, well, I strive to gain your approval throughout my everyday life." He spoke sarcastically, taking a sip of the water he had brought with him, a slight headache forming.

"Well, good. You should be striving to get my approval. I'm your trainer after all, aren't I?" He asked with a smirk as the smaller boy turned to face him with a look of shock and relief.

"Are you being honest with me right now? I don't have to train with that giant anymore. Are you telling me I can actually get back from training without looking like I got in a fight and lost?" He asked with a smile creeping it's way onto his face.

"Yeah, that's exactly what I'm saying." Liam shrugged as Zayn threw his arms around the other tightly, his face buried in his neck before he pulled away, a dark blush on his cheeks.

"I-I didn't mean to, I just got really happy and excited. I'm sorry, Liam." He mumbled shyly as Liam smiled at him before shrugging.

"It's not big deal, it was nice. Maybe you should get excited more often." He said with a smirk as he winked at the smaller boy, causing the other to groan frantically and push him away.

"Yeah, okay. Piss off." He murmured, standing as he made his way upstairs, a dopey smile on both his and Liam's face.
