"She left pieces of her life behind everywhere she went. I'm not sure if it was for comfort or she was slowly giving up. But all she said was 'It's easier to feel the sunlight without them.'That simple yet bizarre sentence meant the world to her. She was an illusion waiting to be solved and I hoped I was the one who'd unfold it.
But I couldn't. I got close but she'd always do something to baffle me. I thought I had her. I thought she was mine. But I suppose it was an illusion. Her illusion.
She told me things which I later found out we're lies. But still I couldn't let her go.
And every time she left a memory behind, I'd find it and never forget it. For her sacrifice, was my gain, I suppose.
However, I wish I never found those memories. They only caused burning affliction. A misery which I've never felt before. Nevertheless, I accidentally fell in love with her, but I adored every moment.
She taught me that beauty shouldn't come from outward adornment such as elaborate hairstyles and gold jewellery or fine clothes. She educated me that beauty came from inside your soul and your heart.
And that's why I cherished her. But I left it too late...."
I gazed up from the crumpled piece of paper, which I was reading from, to observe the audience in front of me. All I saw was a wave of tears and black material.
I shouldn't be here, I shouldn't have to do this. Yes, I loved her but she didn't think of me as anything remotely close to her.
I looked to the right of me and placed my hand on the wooden coffin surrounded with flowers.
"I love you Zoe."
