Just another shallow man in a body bag I thought to myself as Joe pushed the bag over the side of the boat. It was 12:01am and the sky was at its darkest peak, whereas the sea was at its calmest. Little ripples swayed the boat every so often and the wind made my body shiver. As soon as Joe had let go of the bag he turned to me and grabbed my fragile hands in his large, warm ones. I leaned over the edge of the boat slightly and watched as the bag sank down into the depths of the Black Sea. Once it was out of sight, I looked back at Joe.
"Baby, it will be fine. Everything will be ok." There was so much confidence lingering in his words, but there was still a hint of nervousness, which made me feel like every word he said was indeed a lie.
He rubbed my hands for a short while before turning on the engine of the tiny boat and guiding us back to the shore. Right up until we got to shallow shore my hands were still warm from Joe's touch, but then they turned cold once again. Just like they were a few hours ago when I realised what I had done.
When I had killed that defenceless young man.
