Did I mention that I was as bent as a roundabout and never looked twice at men? Although I wasn't a massive fan of her music, I'd only really heard of Price Tag and Domino and that was due to the radio, but I was watching the Brits at home last year and noticed her and subconsciously obviously fallen in love with her, that can only be the explanation for the way I became so nervous and clumsy all of a sudden.

I put the holdall of hot drinks and the bag of snacks down on the table and resumed my position just behind Phillip with pen, paper and phone in hand, oh and my pager attached to my belt. Turns out I signed up for more more than I had originally thought.

ANYWAY…

The shoot was running smoothly and the potential photos for the October issue were looking great. Jessie was so unbelievably photogenic and new how to pose. She was always cracking jokes and having a good time on set, I couldn't help but notice between shots she'd look up from the camera at me then back down again for the next frame. Either she was checking me out or I was having some very vidid wishful thinking.

The photo shoot soon came to and end and it was a wrap. The images looked amazing, the set looked amazing and more importantly, well to me anyway, Jessie looked amazing. Phillip soon transferred all the shots onto a memory stick and asked me to take them to the editing suite '2A' where I should find a guy named Bill, I guess he was in charge of retouching and photoshop or whatever it is they do, who cares I'm just the messenger.

As I was walking to the editing suite I was tapping away on my phone checking various emails, lol ok who am I kidding I was on Twitter, when all of a sudden a door opened in front of me and I walked square into it face first, falling flat on my ass. Fucking well done Poppy. Luckily for me it was around the corner from the main office and no one saw. After blinking a few times and reaching for my phone I suddenly heard a voice.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have opened my door so fast, are you okay?" It was Jessie J. She had abruptly opened her changing room door as she was getting ready to leave.

"Yeah I'm fine, it's cool don't worry, I should have been paying more attention anyway." I said trying not to stare at her. She held out her hand to help me up and I obliged, oh my god her hands were so soft and warm, I felt a buzz of electricity pulsate through my hand.

Ouch! Oh no, wait, it was genuinely an electric shock. We both giggled and looked at each other whilst rubbing our hands.

"I'm Jessie by the way, it's a pleasure to meet you. Oh and thank you for the coffee." She said smiling slightly.

"My name is Poppy and you're welcome, gotta do what the boss asks if I wanna earn my keep." I smiled warmly, well I hope so anyway, for all I know I could be pulling a face similar to Mr. Bean right now. "Anyway, sorry for being such an inconvenience but I better be getting your photos to the editing suite if you ever want to grace the cover of Rolling Stone." and with that we smiled at each other and I carried on my daily work.

•••

The week had passed fairly quickly, I was always busy running errands, making phone calls and helping Phillip with his various projects and before I knew it, it was Friday evening, 6pm, home time to be exact.

As I was packing up my laptop and collecting pieces of paper to put into my bag, Phillip came out of his office and approached me.

"Hey, Poppy, what are you doing tonight? Nothing. Great. Well myself and some friends are going out tonight, about 15 of us, you should come. It's been a busy first week for you and you've been performing well and you deserve to let your hair down. I'll text you later the details, be ready by 9:30pm."

Right ok, so they were obviously rhetorical questions as he wouldn't let me answer and he'd planned my night for me and is obviously refusing to take no for an answer as well. To be honest the week had been busy and I was shattered, but I figured I shouldn't turn down this prime opportunity to socialise with the boss, no matter how kiss ass that sounds, besides I'll probably have fun and who knows who I'll meet.

I was home by 6:30pm so that allowed me 3 hours to get ready. Phillip had text me saying a driver would be coming to pick me up at 9:30pm, he also said that I wouldn't be arriving alone as one of his guests/friends - I don't really know what they are to him - lives not too far from me and will also be catching a ride. Great, queue awkward silences and small talk for the duration of that journey, God I really hope the bar we're going to isn't far.

I started off by making myself some dinner, beans on toast, what? I never said I was Gordon Ramsey, besides, it's quick and easy and is just as satisfying as any other fancy 5 star meal, after that I headed into the shower and began getting ready.

The clock struck 9pm when I'd finished getting ready and applying the last of my mascara. Being the lesbian that I am I would by lying if I said I'd opted for a figure hugging dress with some killer heels as my outfit for tonight, instead I opted for black leather Vans, black skinny jeans, a white satin shirt that had a studded collar and a grey tweed blazer from Zara that had leather sleeves, it tied in the outfit nicely. My make-up was natural looking, no eye shadow or lipstick, just foundation blusher/bronzer, mascara and eyeliner. Understated but still made an impact.

I was downstairs getting my bag ready when I heard a car beep its horn. I grabbed the last of my stuff making sure I had money, ID, my keys and anything else I may have needed. I locked up the ground floor flat, walked down the path and hopped into the car.

Swear to God I nearly gasped out loud, at least there won't be any awkward silences.

"Hows the face?" She asked smirking.

"The face is fine, it's my ass that hurts no thanks to you." I said laughing, my nerves relaxing slightly. Low and behold, I was sharing the car with no other than Jessie J.
