THE CADET

CHAPTER II

II

The next day, I woke up to a noise downstairs. There were laughing and shrieking. I went down the stairs to look what was the racket all about.

"TeeeJaaaay" shrieked my sister AJ. She came rushing and hugged me tight. I hugged her in return. I missed her suddenly.

"What are you doing here?" I asked surprised that she is here.

"This is my house too right?" and she hugged me again.

My sister is an inch taller than I am. She is slimmer and more beautiful. Ate AJ as in Aubrey Jenina is a nurse at The Air Force Hospital in Pasay. She recently became a Military Nurse earning triangle on her uniform. She is now Lt. AJ Morales, she told Dad.

Then I saw a man standing nearby. He was smiling at me when i looked at him. My sister might have noticed me looking at him, then he introduced us.

"Oh, TJ this is Glenn. Glen this is my baby sister, TJ."

I learned that Kuya Glen is an Air Force pilot. He graduated from PMA (Philippine Military Academy). He is Captain Glen De Ocampo. AND the boyfriend of Ate AJ. I looked at them, they look very in love. I smiled. He is handsome.

"Okay, the table is ready. Lets have breakfast." Mommy said

While having breakfast, Ate AJ said "Hey Dad, the brother of Glenn is a cadet at PMA. They are going to have their break today. Will it be okay that he crash here until Sunday?" she looked at Daddy.

"That's okay. He can come here." Daddy said between bites.

"Thank you Sir," Said Kuya Glen

6 PM

After accompanying Faith to the mall to buy a dress that she could wear to her date with NC I was late in going home. I called Mommy that I would be a little late cause I was still Faith, Mom said to take care. She did not Sk anything. Hmmm nice mood.

I removed my shoes before entering the house. You see, Mommy believes too much in feng shui. They said not to bring the dirty shoes inside the house Bad luck.

So, it has been a norm not to bring your dirty shoes inside.

As I enter the house, I went straight to the kitchen and washed my hands.

"Why were you late?" Mommy asked me.

" I accompanied Faith to the mall. She went to buy a dress for her date with her cadet boyfriend. I was wondering why she has to repare and buy a new clothes when her boyfriend is just a cadet. Gosh!" I said while washing my hands.

"Uhem, TJ!" I heard my sister called my attention.

I turned around and I was surprised to see two cadets looking at me. I wanted the ground to open and swallow me. I wanted to crawl under the rug. How could this happen to me?

I sat immediately on the only empty chair at the table. Then I turned around to he person next to me.

  

"TJ are you the borther of Kuya Glen?" I said.

I was surprised he is here. Is he the brother of Kuya Glen? Gosh!

"Nope," He said curtly

"Hi, I'm Gary? said the other cadet with his hand trust to my face. Ah so this is the borther.

"Hi," I just said ignoring his hand.

"Better sit now Gardo," said Kuya Glen laughing at his brother.

Everyone laughed except me.

The next day Gary went out with Mara. Faith called saying she is soo in love with NC. My brother was in the den with TJ when I went down for breakfast. Mom and Dad have left for the office and Ate sleeping in her room. Kuya Glenn went out to his foster parents' house.

"Hello" a deep voice said behind me. "Good morning sleepyhead. "

I turned around And said "Of course not! I was just too tired yesterday. " i went to my place in the table where the maid, Manang Joanna was preparing my breakfast.

TJ on the other hand sat at the opposite side of the table facing me. Gosh this man, how dare he sat there? How could I eat with him watching me?

I did not mind him. I ate my breakfast more carefully this time with extra slowness.

"How come you have daing and we didn't?" He asked.

"I dunno! Ask them. "

Silence

"Hmmmm TJ what does TJ mean?" He asked atthe same time i put a spoonfull of fried rice in my mouth.

"Tierry Juliana, you?"

"Theodore Julian, weird eh?" He said still watching me "So do you like me?"

I almost choke when asked me.

"How do I know? I don't even know you. " I said angrily.

"Hmmmm,okay" he said.

How on earth could he ask that and shrug it off just like that? He looked at me with that disturbingly handsome face. Gosh what on earth is happening here i said to myself.

The next day they went to Manila including my sister AJ. TJ texted and called me for the rest of their break. He was in Manila with Gary's family. He said Gary was always out with the other mistahs drinking here and there. TJ on the other hand stays home sleep and text me.

I was starting to enjoy talking to him. I started checking my phone for text messages from him and getting disappointed when I don't get any. I am trying not to think of him but I could not take his handsome face off my mind.

What is this I'm feeling?
