THE CADET

CHAPTER V

GOING HOME

As soon as we finished the snack, We asked them to bring us to the taxi stand. They did.

When the taxi came

NC looked around and kissed Faith in the mouth fast. I was shocked. I was about to get in the cab when TJ hugged me and said "I love you sleepyhead" I blushed and looked arund if someone saw us.

The taxi left PMA with us. I was happy. I could not explain the happiness I felt. And Faith was sucked in her world that even I could not bother. I saw TJ standing when the taxi left...he was smiling. NC too looked in love.

IAN

"Hello TJ" my new classmate called my name. He is a transferee from another school. Handsome, tall, basketball player and all. All my girl classmates were having crush on him. And naturally they hate me for being hos object of his attention.

"Oh hi Ian," i said

Faith is with me and raised a brow at Ian that made hm uncomfortable.

"Hmmmm, I was gonna ask you if you're free after class," he unconfortably asked me.

"Is there something wrong, Ian?" I asked him.

"Uhm, i was thinking if you could teach me some of those stuff in Math. My scholarship is slipping away." He pleaded.

Aaaahh he just wanted me to teach him. Was that the reason why he always wanted to sit beside me in class? Was that the reason why he follows me sometimes and wanted to talk to me?

"Thank you so much TJ," he said. "What time would that be?"

"Hmmmm, its Friday, My class ends at 2 pm" I told him

"Hey that's great. My class ends at 3 too." He smiled. "So where will we meet?"

"Hmmm how about the library?" Loking at Faith who was raising her right brow higher.

"Oh, okay. Thanks TJ," He said.

3 pm

I was in the library with Faith and Ian. I was trying to teach him our lesson in Math. It was not difficult to teach him. Faith on the other hand was texting non stop. Smiling in between.

"TJ, thank you. I hope you will teach me again next time when I'm having a problem with it." Ian said.

"Oh no problem. " i said while packing my stuff.

"Ah, uhm, TJ as a thank you allow me to treat you and Faith for a snack?" Ian said

"Uh, no thanks Ian," it was Faith who answered him.

"At least a bottle of soda?" Insted Ian

"No, thanks Ian," I said while looking at Faith "maybe next time, " I said.

"Ok then, next time."

When we were going down the stairs, Faith rushed before me and Ian. She went to her waiting NC. When NC saw her he smiled immediately.

"Aaahhh so her boyfriend is a cadet," Ian whispered to me.

I was about to smile when at the corner of the room I saw a non smiling TJ. He was looking at me and Ian. He looked like he wanted to hit Ian right there and then.

I smiled at him. Then he approached still not smiling.

"Sleepyhead," he said

Ian was surprised. He looked at the cadet who called me sleepyhead and then at me. He must be wondering what is my relationship with the cadet.

"Uhurm, hmmm TJ this is my classmate Ian. Ian, this is my boyfriend TJ," I said.

TJ and Ian looked at me surprised. TJ smiled. Ian disappointed. I was shocked.

Boyfriend? Did I say boyfriend? Gosh! What was I thinking? Why did I say that?

"Uhm, TJ I gotta go," said Ian. "I still have basketball practice."

Then he turned to TJ, "Nice meeting you Pare," they shook hands.
