Jack;

"Can we go home now" Avery whined "I feel like a burnt potatoe" she frowned.

Yea a cute burnt potatoe.

"Ok let's go" I smiled putting her on my back.

It was currently eight twenty five and my mom said she could come home.

Ten minutes away from the house I told Avery to put a blindfold that I brought on.

"You better not be playing some sick game" she warned

"I would never" I chuckled, she hit my chest and she out the blindfold on. I grabbed her hand and we walked home.

It felt nice having her hand in mine. I hoped she felt the same way.

- at home -

I saw a bunch of cars parked along the sidewalk going down the neighborhood and I laughed to myself.

She'll love this.

I walked into the house first and they were all about to scream "surprise" when I shushed them.

"Ok you can take your blindfold off Avery." I smiled getting out of her way.

She took it off and avery one jumped out from their hiding spots "surprise" everyone yelled.

She smiled from ear and I instantly smiled. She was so perfect, why'd she have to be my stepsister.

Avery;

After everyone greeted me I saw someone I thought I'd never see before. Noah.

I ran up to him and jumped into his arms. He stumbled a bit but soon regained his balance.

"I missed you so much" I mumbled into Noah's shoulder

I hadn't seen Noah in two years and when we were friends we'd hang out everyday.

He set me down "well lucky for you, you'll be seeing my quite a bit in this neighborhood" he smiled

My mouth dropped "you moved here" I squealed

He laughed and nodded.

"Are you coming to my performance tomorrow?" I ask hoping he says yes.

"Yes" I can't believe you're performing, there are going to be so many people.

Today wasn't my actual birthday, tomorrow is but they decided to celebrate today.

"Ok everybody time to song for the birthday girl" mom and dad cheered.

Everyone started singing 'happy birthday' and I felt loved. I blew out my candles and everyone cheered.

"Ok time to open up gifts" my mom said pointing to the large table with dozens of gifts.

My mouth dropped "guys this is so much" I said looking around.

A lot of my aunts and uncles and a bunch of my cousins were here.

Everyone had their phone out while I started opening the first couple of gifts, most were clothes but then I got to the more expensive stuff.

I opened up an xbox one, a new MacBook Pro, a swegway, and a couple of books and movies which were my absolute favourite.

My mouth dropped open and I ran over to my parents and squeezed them into a hug.

"I love you" I whispered to them. "We love you too baby" mom whispered.
