"And a one, a two, a one, two, three...play!" Our music teacher instructed and began to flail her arms.

My hand began to move back and forth, holding the bow. The bow strummed the strings of the violin. My chin rested on the chin rest of the violin. My fingers began to hold down the different parts of the violin.

Alya pressed her mouth onto the mouth hole of the flute. She held it very gently and played with her eyes closed. Her fingers moved left to right, pressing down the different keys.

Adrien's fingers skimmed through the keyboard of the accordion. He held it against its chest and was able to change the sound to be louder or quieter.

Nino was on the drum set. His hands held the drumsticks tightly and they played gently and quietly on the snare drum. However, he looked bored to death.

Drums were supposed to be played louder, I imagined him thinking. Miss Pierre, however, would have none of that.

She was a firm believer in classical music. Music that was pleasant to the ear in her days. The school had to plead to her to let modern day instruments like the drums to be allowed in her music class.

"No, no, no!" She huffed in frustrations. "The drums are too loud. The flute is too quiet. The violin is not in sync with the other instruments - it's too slow. The accordion is also not in sync with the other instruments - it's too fast. The oboe is playing a different song. The viola -"

All of us cut her ranting short by giving a loud groan. Miss Pierre is too old fashioned, too finicky and such a perfectionist. I thought that we sounded fine.

"What was that, Miss Dupain-Cheng?" Miss Pierre turned her attention to me. She was glaring at me through her small, circular spectacles.

I could feel my cheeks heat up. Did I just say that out loud?

When I didn't answer, Miss Pierre took a few steps closer to me. "To the principal's office, young lady,"

A few people around me gasped. I also gasped. However, I obeyed. Hanging my head low, I put my violin and bow in my violin bag and dragged my feet to the principal's office.

"It's not her fault," A voice spoke up. I turned around, along with everyone else, to hear Adrien speak. "I also thought that we didn't play badly,"

"Excuse me, Mister Agreste, but are you a certified music teacher?" She snapped at Adrien.

I was very touched that Adrien stood up for me. That was the nicest thing he has done to me. I admire him even more.

"No, but I do know that we didn't sound terrible," Adrien replied, frowning at irritated Miss Pierre.

"Yeah. You don't have to be a certified teacher to know about music," Alya stepped into my defence.

"Times have changed, dude, I mean Miss. The music that you listen to is definitely not the kind of music that we listen to today," Nino spoke up.

"No offence, Miss Pierre, but the music that you guys used to listen to is boring. It puts me right to sleep, like a lullaby," Chloé picked on her nails.

I couldn't believe it. Almost everyone was taking my side on this. Even Chloé. That says a lot. Miss Pierre can't send the whole class to the principal's office.
