Chapter 2

Its morning. But for me, it’s a bad one. Why? Because Rica won't be going to school because she's sick and I just found out that she likes my best friend, Ezekiel.

Now what do I do in school today? I'm too honest to lie about my feelings? But who will ever care about me? I'm just a nobody. Everyone that knows my true potential was my classmates back then. In my new school now? All of them; not a single one doesn't under estimate me.

Times have been hard in school, especially when you're an outcast. No one thinks you’re friendly until they actually get to know you. Most people would just say, "Just shut up already," or "Why are you still talking?"

No one cares anyway.

I pack my bags and got on to my car where my dad drives me to school.

On the way, I see a billboard that says, "Never give up no matter what challenge you face."

HMP! The one that created this obviously has no idea about my situation.

Finally, I arrive in school. I go to my classroom, but on the way, I hear whispers,

"Aw! I just heard Leon got hated on by his Rica," says Patrick, one of the jerks of the school. Patrick, why in the world do girls like that jerk?

"I know right? Who cares about that kid? Yeah, he ran for the student council and hosted a lot of good events, but so?" says her cocky girlfriend, Emerald. Yes, I am the kid that always loves to host. But still, that is not even enough to impress people.

Did I ever tell you about "The Cycle?" Well, it is a term I used because every time I have a crush, it always has that kind of pattern.

I fall in love. She finds out. She gets annoyed. Things get awkward. She avoids me in everything. I try to join a contest to redeem myself. I turn to a mystery. Huge turning point. She gets less annoyed and less awkward. We become friends. Someone courts her. She answers. They Break. While me? I'm always in the friendzone. They call me, "Mr.Friendzone," for that.

Want to know the story of how I fell in love with her?

Oh no! My thoughts got carried away. I'm late for class! So, I run to my classroom. I ran for 10 seconds just to get to my classroom.

When I entered the classroom, Ms. Tracy asked me, "Why are you late?"

"I'm sorry Ma'am. I got carried away by my thoughts," I say.

"By the way Ma'am, Rica wishes to inform you that she will be absent today due to sickness," I added.

Ms. Tracy's face suddenly turned to a frown. It's obvious that she doesn't care about me one bit. "Rica? Aw, I am so sorry to hear that. Leon, you may take your seat."

While I was taking my seat, I hear a lot of whispers by my classmates,

"That guy again? He's late again? Maybe he just had a date with Rica. Wait, he can't he's ugly!" says Damian, yet another cocky classmate.

"I bet he just cried all night about his broken toy," said Dianne, she thinks she can have anything she wants.

"He's already an outcast. Now he's trying to be something less?" says David, the president of the class.

"If he was trying to make a good show to get excused from being late, that was boring!!!" said Briana, a girl that has so many boyfriends. Also known as a flirty person.

"Psst. Hey Leon! Are you alright? You shouldn't listen to these guys," says Kace, one of my best friends.

Marielle adds, "Yeah, they're just jerks!"
