Chapter 10: To Bring Him Back

We were able to bring Aaron to the Mage Tower, where Ameli, Lucio and Ada reside. But before that, of course, we thanked Xylis for helping us out. "We may never meet again, but we may never forget each other, wielder of the Ellorium," she said.

We agreed on that.

Now at the Mage Tower, Lucio said, "Ameli! What are you talking about a while ago?"

Ameli was held aback. "Whoa, easy, Lucio! We need Aaron to be placed on a special device - " Ameli turned to me " - and I am not talking about those Memory Pods in video games, Alj, just in case you ask. I believe the device is a Light Berth. When the light it emits is green, the person sleeping in it is fully healed."

"This will also shorten the coma. Xylis said Aaron will be in a coma for about five days, but this may be shorten to two or three days," Ada explained.

I nodded. This is the only way to save Aaron. "But if someone has to enter his dreams, who would it be?" I asked.

"Who else but you?" the others said, all at the same time like they meant it. But they really meant it.

"Here." Ada approached me and gave me . . . an amulet? A pendant. Its jewel was made of deep gold topaz, carved into a circular shape.

Ameli then placed another amulet next to Aaron. Similar to mine, only that the jewel was a deep blue sapphire, carved into a square.

"The amulet will hold your power, no matter where you are," Ameli said. "Even in Aaron's subconscious world."

I shuddered at the thought. I turned my back at the others. I was afraid that I might not come back alive if I tried to enter Aaron's subconscious world. But someday, I might bring him back.

Someday. . . .
