Hey everyone, hope you are enjoying this book, give me your opinion on it if you want or if there are things that I could improve, or if something doesn't make sense.
Every day Lucifer went down from his palace to see his people, he noticed the kids didn't talk, didn't even cry, when the adults talked it was in a whisper. Everyone wore the same expression Lucifer had when he got here, resignation, no hope for tomorrow.
As Lucifer walked around the camps that the people set up for themselves he remembered one girl from before he was banished so one day he looked for her, when he found her he was so surprised at her eyes that he forgot what he wanted from her. Her eyes where caged, hiding what she was feeling but he couldn't miss the hatred she had for him.
For you to understand this story to the end, I must explain to you about this girl, Lucifer from the very beginning was closed off, he didn't trust easily, he didn't talk too much, he preferred to sit alone and think, because he was very clever he didn't feel like the other people understood him very well. On the grounds in his old field there was an enormous willow tree, its branches hanged low making the place inside seem like a cocoon, the leaves made sure that the ground underneath was always in the shade and protected from the rain. Lucifer came to the place nearly every day, sometimes he talked aloud, and sometimes he sat in silence and meditated. On a rainy day as always he came and started talking about a theory that he thought of when talking to God, what he didn't know was that on the other side of the tree a girl was hiding from the rain. She listened to his internal thoughts and was fascinated, she herself was an artist and always thought that no one understood her, but she understood him and she had a great suspicion that he would understand her, so she made her presence known.
Lucifer startled because he didn't know that anyone knew of his place, and was angry that this person though that it was okay to listen to him, so he stomped out into the rain, not letting the girl explain herself.
The next day, he decided to go talk to the girl, who he believed to be spying on him. He was angry and he felt betrayed that someone would listen to him talk to himself, he feared that she would tell the people and that would make him the laughing stock of the land, and he didn't want that because he saw other people be made fun of and he thought that it was cruel and didn't understand why people feel the need to do that to another. With these words, he wanted to confront the girl that made him question how others think.
However, when he got there, he was sure that she will be there, groveling to him because he is the co-leader of the land, but she wasn't there. What he didn't know was that she was just down the hill, watching him with a smile on her face, she was thinking that he should learn about how people think, because he did not think like all the other people and that could make him be confused when something happens and could lead to him becoming hurt. So, she wanted to teach him about emotions and how normal people apply the process of thinking.
The next day, he wanted, once again to meet the mysterious lady and talk to her, however she wasn't there. Looking at his tree, he notices that there is a piece of paper on it, it read, So, you wanted me to come to this place, to scowl me, to tell me off, to shout. But, give me the answer to why. Put your answer to this tree and I will talk to you. Yours, N.
He thought and thought, his answers to the question varied because he didn't know exactly why, he had the idea of betrayal, and braking confidentiality, and then because she was pretty. Her wavy brown hair and expressive eyes haunted his dreams and his waking moments, he couldn't stop thinking about her, and why she was there in his tree and what she thought about him. He growled at himself, he believed that these trivial thoughts were a weakness, something that was frowned upon. So, he didn't give the girl an answer and didn't try to find her, although he could because he knew that her name started with a N and it wouldn't be hard to find her as there wasn't that many people in this land. But he knew that would lead to questions, that he wasn't prepared to answer.
After three weeks of hating himself for the weakness, he continued going to his tree and talking about her, and his work, and anything that came to his mind. The girl watched him from a distance and grew sadder each day that she realized that he wasn't going to admit to himself that he was feeling. So, she decided to upfront him, and see his reaction. Her face became a mask of determination as she vowed to herself that she will make him acknowledge his emotions.
The next day after Lucifer came back from the land to his house, he went straight to his tree, he was near the end of what he can take, today he saw one person badmouthing another because they got a prettier flower in their hair, the lies that the person uttered made his stomach clench from the bad smell that the lie emitted for him only to smell. He made sure that the person was thoroughly chastised for her poor behavior, and made sure that the other female was okay, but she instead of thanking him was saying that she can fight her own battles and that she had everything under control, he was baffled at her thinking, he heard from her thoughts that she thought she was weak because someone had to help her. He stood shocked for a second before he muttered, "Suit yourself," and left.
When he finally saw the woman that was at his tree, he outright growled and turned around to go anywhere because he feared that because of the incident before, he was too vulnerable to be around anyone, because they could then make him think about anything, make him question as his guard was a little more down than normal.
"Wait!" She shouted at him, her voice a velvety presence that wrapped around him.
"Go away, I do not have time for this right now." He said in a monotone tone that made her look at him with a sad expression before it cleared and she said, "We will talk today." Her voice a stubborn wall that he had no desire to break so he continued to walk away from her, when it started to rain heavily, "Great," He commented without emotion.
"Come on, let's go to the tree, it will protect us from the rain," She said softly, as if knowing that he was in a vulnerable state.
"No," He said quietly but firmly.
"Yes," She said the in the same tone of voice that he used.
Lucifer huffed a breath, knowing that the girl was not going to leave him alone anytime soon if he didn't talk to her.
