Recap

As the last word dried on his tongue, he felt a shift in his demeanor, and he screamed in pain as something tore through the muscles in his heart and chest cavity, he screamed again as he held his hands over his heart and squeezed, he thrashed and fell to the floor making the most animistic sound as he screamed in total agony.

"Let it happen, just let it happen," The girl whispered in his ear with tears in her eyes as she held him so strongly that his bones protested, however he did not feel that, he only felt the pain, the all consuming pain from his heart.

"I'm sorry, this had to happen to you," She continued to whisper to him, "I'm sorry," with that a lone tear streaked down her perfect face showing the pain that she experienced while holding Lucifer close.

He opened his eyes. When did I close my eyes?  He thought to himself when he instinctively raised his arms to his chest remembering the pain that he experienced.

"Shhhh, it will be okay in a moment," someone whispered above him, and in that moment he realized that his head was in someone's lap and he was lying on the ground. Before any more thoughts could be introduced his body froze in panic and he thrashed against the person holding him. What he didn't notice was that the girl was only stroking his hair and it wasn't like anything from the past.

"Hey! Look, it's me!" She shouted in alarm not knowing what to do, she grew concerned when she saw his eyes, they were shiny and wide, and he wasn't looking at anything from now, he was fully in the past.

"It wasn't me, it wasn't me, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I will be better, I will be good, I promise," he whispered the words from the past wanting it to stop, he just wanted it to stop the panic cursing through his body. "No! Not again! It wan't me!" His voice was laced with panic and loathing. "NO!" He roared, and broke out of the horrid memories.

Disorientated, he looked around and saw the girl looking at him with pity, this never happened to him, he never lost control like that anymore, what the hell happened to me, he thought to himself and logically blamed the person that started this, with a final look at the girl he glared at her and ran off into the rain that still hasn't stopped.

"But...it wasn't my doing." She whispered to him knowing that he was way out of the range of hearing.

(End of flashback, if you can't remember what happened was that Lucifer took all the people who stayed with God and imprisoned them in the "bad side of the world"  where he was send after people turned against him, and he remembered the girl from before, which was the flashback)

The flashback got him thinking about the girl and how it turned out, he wanted to know why she, like all the others, turned on him.

So he left his cave that he called home and went to see HIS people. He thought that everybody accepted that it won't get better than this.

He was wrong. He looked deep into each person and he realized that in everybody's eyes there is the same thing, hatred for him and heartbreak for their home, some eyes lost all hope and the stench of desperation made him smile and breathe in deeply savoring the loss of hope they felt.

What surprised him was one man's eyes, they were sad with pity for him, for Lucifer who was tortured in his head by betrayal, his friends had to choose a side and they chose the opposition, they choose the side where nothing changed, they lived pe...

What surprised him was one man's eyes, they were sad with pity for him, for Lucifer who was tortured in his head by betrayal, his friends had to choose a side and they chose the opposition, they choose the side where nothing changed, they lived peacefully but never has God actually came down to check on them.

As opposed to when Lucifer came down every day, not to talk as none of them actually talked to him but just to check on them and see how they all were.

Lucifer went to his palace thinking about the man, the man that didn't have that much hate for him as the others, the one who pitied him-the almighty Lucifer or the nickname they gave him the Devil. As Lucifer was lying in bed that night he tried and failed to think of a reason for the people to stay, they paid their due, they suffered as he has except not as long, they got a taste of their own medicine. One thing nagged him as he was falling asleep...the girl.

Later in the night he jerked awake, a plan forming in his head, a test of sorts. In the morning he went down to the people and said, "If you want to go home you can but this girl has to stay with me in my castle, forever,"

"No, it's either all or none," the man who pitied Lucifer said. His name was John.

"Anybody going to disagree," Lucifer said emotion making his tone unrecognizable. Everyone stayed quiet, he jumped for joy inside, "Well done you passed the test...you can all go home I am not stopping you, I promise you, no traps, no nothing, you can go. I see taking a bit of your own medicine changed you for the better and I am honored that I could see it."

"We don't wanna go back," a little kid said.

"Is that true?" Lucifer asked, shock evident in his voice.

"Don't you know that God isn't the same without you there, he changed and not for the better, he became distant, his eyes held too much pain, we could see it and the ground felt it, dying slowly." John said, a sadness filling his eyes, a deep pain inside.

"But... Loren!!!" Lucifer shouted. The little messenger came in a flash, "I believe that you have been giving me incorrect data all along...why?" Lucifer's voice sounded pain stricken.

"I'm very sorry but I had to, because otherwise the world as we know would end and not the way the witches want, not as it has been prophesied. I had to, I'm sorry and now you don't need me anymore, I have to go, I played my part right it's your turn, make us proud." as quickly as he appeared he disappeared. Lucifer looked at the space, love for his friend so great he had to make sure not to cry.

"Teach us something, a job, something useful," John said.

"Tomorrow," Lucifer replied sadly before starting to go to his castle.

"I'll come with you, you don't look like you want to be alone," the girl that he wanted said hesitantly.

"OK," Lucifer said somewhat afraid of what he actually wanted. They went to the castle on the way there he remembered this girl, he remembered her voice one as sweet as honey that when she sings you stop and listen. "Please can you sing for me? Just once and I promise I will never ask again."

"You can ask me anytime, anywhere, I just have to know you are listening,"

"I remember you, out of all the things on that side of the world the thing I remember most is you, your voice, your smile, your eyes, and your laugh."

Next chapter will be of the past, I will continue the flashback. :) Hope you are enjoying this book, comment and vote please.
