Persephone P.O.V.

We were flying for hours. I got hungry like 2 hours ago. Max wouldn't let us stop. She kept saying we'd stop when we get there. Even if she didn't know where 'there' was.

"Max I'm hungry." Gazzy complained again for the millionth time.

"Yea. It's night out now. Can we stop and get food and sleep and-" Nudge started asking but got interrupted.

"No nudge. Not until we get where we need to be." Max said determined.

"Max. It's dark, and we're hungry and tired." Fang said. "We need to stop."

"Fine. Keep an eye out for a good place." Max said.

'Thank the gods.' I thought. 'Gods.' Wait what. Why did I say gods.

"OH MAX STRAWBERRIES!" Nudge squealed pointing at the ground.

"There's plenty of forest around it to sleep in. We can eat the strawberries for food." Fang said. "Maybe we can even find some nuts or berries in the woods or something."

"Plus there's an ocean near by so we can clean up too." Nudge said.

"Alright but there's a house not far away from it. We'll have to be quiet when we take the berries and camp out farther away." Max said.

We flew down to the ground next to the ocean. Oh the ocean. I've always want to go to a beach. The School doesn't have any beaches or oceans so I've never went to one before.

The flock went to the strawberry patches but I went down to the beach. I took off my combat boots and stepped in the ocean. It felt amazing and the smell was intoxicating. It felt right. I loved the way the ocean felt. I felt stronger standing in it too.

"Persephone! Come on!" Nudge yelled to me.

I reluctantly got out of the water. And put on my boots. It took me a minute to realize that I was completely dry. I was just standing waist deep in the ocean I didn't have a drop of water on me.

"Come on Percie." She said.

Percie was the nickname the flock decided to give me. I like it. Persephone is just a bit too long.

"Alright flock, take as many berries as you can and go to the forest." Max said.

We split up and went to pick berries. These were the healthiest berries I ever seen, not that I've seen many berries or anything with being in the School and all. Antwon seemed to be finding the best berries somehow. All the berries are especially amazing where he is.

"Get away from her! Let go of her!" I heard someone scream.

'Max.' I thought. I ran to the sound.

Who are you?" I heard in the distance.

"The last person you every see if you hurt one hair on that girls head." I heard Max say threateningly. She really loves The flock and won't let anyone or thing touch or hurt them.

Finally I made it to where Max was. Most of the flock was already there or where quickly behind me. There was a boy my age on one knee with Angel in his arms. He had a sword in one hand. It was too dark to tell what he looked like.

"Let her go! I won't tell you again!" Max yelled again.

"Answer my question first. I need to make sure you won't hurt her." The boy said.
