Chapter 2: The Prophecy

Percy P.O.V

I was walking around camp, looking for people to help. Camps been pretty busy ever since the war. There's been a lot of fixing, rebuilding and putting new stuff to improve the camp.

Annabeth was up on Olympus making repairs and rebuilding it to be more modern but still classical. I don't know I just know that she spends all of her time up on Olympus.

She puts nothing above her job. Not even me. Thats why she broke up with me.

**********FLASH BACK***********

Annabeth and I were having a date night. We were gonna go see a movie. I hadn't seen her in about a month so it felt good to be with her.

We were about halfway through the main corse when she said the words that every man fears.

"Percy, we need to talk." Annabeth said softly, reaching out to touch my
hand.

"Talk? About what?" I asked her, not seeing how anything could be wrong.

"Well it's just that we never really hang out or talk anymore..." She started to say.

"Well yeah, you spend all your time on Olympus." I said. It was cool I guess, I mean it was her dream job, pretty much.

"Yeah. I need to put all my focus into my job. That's why I think..." She said saying each word slowly and nervously.

"Annabeth? What's wrong" I said concerned. I reached out to touch her hand, but she pulled away from me.

"Percy, I think that we should break up." She said not making eye contact.

"Wh- what do you mean?" I said. My world was crumbling around me. How could she just break up with me. Just end everything we've been through.

"I must take my job seriously and put all my focus into it and-" she said avoiding eye contact.

"And I'm just a distraction." I said.

"No, Percy, it's not like that." She said

"Then tell me what it's like." I said getting angry.

"It- it's just-" she stuttered.

"So it's exactly like that." I said.

I pulled out my wallet and put money on the table for the bill. I might be mad at her but I'm not gonna let her pay for dinner.

I walked out of the restaurant, leaving Annabeth alone. She didn't even look sad.

When I got back to camp, I broke down as cried in my cabin. I know that's her dream job and everything but we could've work something out. She completely just threw me aside once she got what she wanted.

She used me and then broke me.

I've been doing a lot better since the break. Helping people distracts me and I have amazing friends to get me through it.But everything's been different without Leo. He's the life of the party and now he's... Gone. I refuse to say he's dead. There's no proof that he is, his souls not in the underworld and nobody found his body. He's not dead he's just... missing, and he'll come back when he's ready. I just hope he'll comes back soon.
